July 21, 2025 | Dubai, UAE– The Ras Al Khaimah factory fire in the Al Halila industrial area was swiftly brought under control without any reported casualties. The heavy blaze from the fire had lasted for nearly five hours but it was successfully extinguished. The fire was also contained properly to avoid it spreading further to other areas. 

Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police and Head of the Local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Team, confirmed that the key role in successfully bring down the Ras Al Khaimah factory fire was of the efficient coordination and prompt response by all teams in containing the fire and protecting other surrounding factories and warehouses.

Teams Contributing To Put Out The Factory Fire

As soon as the fire was reported, Ras Al Khaimah’s joint emergency plan was activated. Civil Defence teams, along with the support of firefighting units from other emirates, and backed with the specialised technical teams, rushed to the accident scene to contain the flames in the shortest time without any casualties or further expanding to other buildings.

The Ras Al Khaimah factory fire accident saw a timely response and protection from More than 16 local and federal entities that took part in the firefighting, cooling, and evacuation operations. Key participants included:

  1. The Ministry of Defence – Joint Support Command (Firefighting Battalion)
  2. The National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority
  3. Ras Al Khaimah Police 
  4. Civil Defence teams from Ras Al Khaimah and other emirates such as Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah.
  5. The National Guard, the National Ambulance, and the Search and Rescue Unit
  6. Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, Etihad Water and Electricity, Ras Al Khaimah Ports Authority, Saqr Port Authority, Emirates Red Crescent, and the Public Services Department

Ras Al Khaimah’s Major General bin Alwan stated that the Ras Al Khaimah Factory Fire was a successful rescue, all because of the clear demonstration of quick and timely coordination and institutional cooperation, which became the key aspect in preventing the Ras Al Khaimah factory fire from escalating into a far more serious disaster.

According to the Major General, any delay or lack of teamwork between the protecting agencies could have allowed the fire to spread beyond the factory into nearby industrial complexes. The fire could have potentially caused significant damage to infrastructure and threatened the safety of the public. The timely intervention reflects the emirate’s improved capacity to manage crises with swift, professional precision.

Investigation Initiated to Specify The Cause

Following the successful containment efforts of the Ras Al Khaimah factory fire, specialised forensic and technical investigation teams are beginning prompt work at the site. The teams are currently carefully collecting evidence to analyse the environmental and structural samples. They have also been collaborating with other relevant authorities to specify the origin and cause of the fire. Assessments are in action as well, to specify the full extent of material and infrastructural damage.

Keeping in mind the safety risks for the citizens and passersby, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command issued a public advisory. The notice requested the residents to avoid the affected area, use alternative routes, and refrain from circulating unverified information. 

Authorities emphasised the importance of relying exclusively on official channels for accurate and timely updates, and not believing any circulating speculations for their own safety. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

Just before the large-scale blaze of the Ras Al Khaimah factory fire, neighbouring emirate Sharjah had updated its fire prevention measures. Sharjah Civil Defence reported that between January and June 2025, it carried out 5,408 scheduled visits and 13,306 unannounced inspections across its main industrial zones, such as Al Saja’a and Areas 6, 10, 17 and 18. Almost 4,293 establishments were warned for not following the regulations. They have been given 72 hours to address and rectify the hazards.
