July 23, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: It’s official, Lionel Messi is not done yet. The g.o.a.t football legend will play the FIFA World Cup 2026, the Argentina FA confirmation once again created hope, excitement, and pride across Argentina and beyond.

Messi is showcasing the world once again why he’s more than just a footballer, he’s a symbol of resilience, loyalty, and respect that he has for football. This was confirmed during a press event in Dubai, where the Argentina FA also announced new global partnerships that reflect how far the team’s reach now extends.

For fans who’ve watched Messi for two decades, this is more than just news. It’s a final chapter one they’re not ready to close just yet.

Messi’s Return: One Last Game with the World

It’s gonna be tough to imagine the FIFA World Cup 2026 without Messi. But until now, no one was sure if he’d play again. After a seven-month break and a few missed games, many wondered if we’d already seen his last dance in Qatar. Turns out, we haven’t.

“Messi is in fantastic shape mentally and physically,” “He’ll be one of the stars of the tournament. Argentina isn’t just participating, we’re going in as strong contenders,” said Leandro Petersen of the Argentina FA.

And even Messi’s not slowing down either. In the MLS, he’s lighting up stadiums with his goals and assists for Inter Miami, proving everyone that the fire inside him still burns bright which will take him into the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Bond Behind Argentina’s Rise

Every legendary team needs a steady hand at the helm, and for Argentina, that’s Lionel Scaloni. The coach who took them to World Cup glory in 2022 has built something that goes far beyond football, a culture of trust, heart, and togetherness.

“Scaloni is more than a coach,” “He reflects everything Argentina stands for humility, strength, and unity,” said Petersen.

The Argentina FA made it very clear that Scaloni’s role is priority and that his vision for the national team will carry on through the FIFA World Cup 26 and far beyond. That vision includes Messi, not just as a captain but as an icon who inspires the next generation.

In Dubai, Scaloni hinted that the team might return in the winter for training, a sign of how committed the group is to preparing with intention, not just expectation.

LuLu Partnership: Argentina’s Spirit Goes Global

But football isn’t just about the 11 players on the pitch. It’s about the millions in the stands and around the world, who carry the team in their hearts.

Partnering with LuLu Financial Holdings, the Argentina FA is going global in a big way. The fintech company will help the team connect with fans across the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

“For so many of us, Argentina means more than goals or trophies, it’s about spirit,” said Adeeb Ahamed of LuLu. “And Lionel Messi embodies that spirit.”

Starting in December, over 340 LuLu locations will host activations, giveaways, and possibly even player appearances, bringing Messi, Scaloni, and the national team closer to fans who’ve long admired them from afar.

2026 Is More Than a Tournament, It’s a Tribute

As the countdown to the FIFA World Cup 2026 begins, it’s clear that Argentina isn’t just looking to compete, they’re looking to make history again. And with Lionel Messi on the team sheet, backed by the unwavering support of the Argentina FA, they might just do it.

This World Cup won’t just be another tournament  it’ll be a tribute. A celebration of everything Messi has given to the sport. A farewell, maybe. Or maybe a final, brilliant act. The Argentina FA is ready. Lionel Scaloni is ready. And most of all, Lionel Messi is ready to lead his country, one more time, onto football’s biggest stage.
