UAE First Commercial Drones Lead Innovations in Agriculture and Aquaculture

August 13, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: With the opening of its UAE first commercial drones manufacturing facility, which produces sophisticated unmanned aerial systems completely inside the nation, the UAE has taken yet another significant step towards technological leadership. EANAN, founded in Dubai South, is currently creating a multi-purpose of UAE first commercial drones with a range of functions including feeding fish along the coast of Abu Dhabi to diagnosing illnesses in the four million palm trees of the country.

Director of Business Development at EANAN, Mishaal Al Marzooqi, said 85% of every drone’s parts are produced locally. “Our goal is to develop solutions that satisfy world standards while most of our output stays inside the UAE,” he stated. “We are pleased to be the home of the UAE’s first commercial drones effort.”

Agricultural Drones in the UAE Transform Farming and Sustainability.

Among the most significant breakthroughs are the agricultural drones in the UAE created to solve issues with fish farming and crop planting. Delma Island’s precise fish feeding three times a week – replacing the need for fuel-intensive boats – EANAN’s Ghaith Feeder Seeder Drone can carry 600kg of feed each day. Where traditional planting techniques are impossible, the same platform is ready to carry out aerial seeding in the rough mountain environment of Khor Fakkan.

Al Marzooqi said: “We have built actual fish cages to confirm performance by testing these Agricultural drones under real-world circumstances in the UAE. Waiting for final clearances from the General Civil Aviation Authority, we are ready to start full-scale activities.

The firm is negotiating to export its technology outside agriculture. EANAN hopes to replace donkey-based transportation in isolated mountains with drones capable of carrying up to 40kg payloads. Its Khattaf delivery drone, meanwhile, will transport fresh vegetables between islands in the Maldives, offering a sustainable answer to solve food logistics of UAE first commercial drones.

Heavy-Lift Force and Precision Engineering in UAE First Commercial Drones

EANAN’s heavy-lift range includes the Sa’faar drone, capable of carrying 200kg, and the foldable Rikaz model, which handles 50–200kg payloads. The Sa’faar is being upgraded with a turbo generator to replace its 223 kg battery, therefore extending flight time from 15 minutes to one hour. At the Dubai Airshow in November, this advancement will be revealed and shows the engineering know-how behind the UAE first commercial drones.

Another noteworthy feature is EANAN’s OptoSky platform, a precise agricultural tool that uses hyperspectral imaging to evaluate crop health. This technology enables Agricultural drones in UAE to detect palm tree diseases before they spread, hence protecting millions of trees. Al Marzooqi said, “You can detect temperature changes in the palm leaves, identifying disease early and saving crops.”

Another innovation, the Sky VTOL methane sensor, helps the oil and gas industry detect pipe leaks via aerial thermal imaging, therefore improving environmental protection and safety.

An Air Mobility and Space Vision in UAE First Commercial Drones

Every drone is carefully put together within the factory. Engineers shape landing gear tubes, paint each unit in-house, create wiring systems, and print parts in three dimensions. This focus on detail guarantees that the UAE first commercial drones constructed, meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

Driven by love, mechatronics engineer Al Marzooqi, with two master’s degrees, signed up for EANAN. He developed his own medical delivery drone in 2014 for the Drones for Good Award of the United Arab Emirates. “We are designing future solutions, not merely machines,” he stated.

Going forward, EANAN is creating a bladeless vertical take-off and landing plane for logistics and air taxi services in collaboration with a US aerospace company. Another long-term initiative calls for a hydrogen-powered detonation engine intended to launch micro-satellites from drones, therefore extending the function of agricultural drones in the UAE into space exploration.

Recognised by the Ministry of Economy as among the top future companies in the UAE, EANAN has signed agreements with Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Air Navigation Services, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and Dubai University. The firm intends to be the regional centre for drone technology.

“Five years from now, we see this factory as the heartbeat of drone invention in the GCC,” Al Marzooqi said. “The UAE first commercial drones are only the start; our goal is to inspire the next generation of innovators and guarantee the agricultural drones in UAE become a worldwide benchmark for efficiency, sustainability, and impact.”
