The UAE has launched the Amen platform, an innovative new digital instrument that enables citizens and residents to actively engage in tracking media content throughout the nation. Under the auspices of the UAE Media Council, the new initiative was launched on October 20, 2025, and gives the actual power to the people by allowing ordinary individuals to report content that doesn’t comply with national values or ethical principles.

Rather than solely putting media self-regulation into the hands of the government, the Amen platform acknowledges the fact that the residents best understand what suits or doesn’t suit the UAE’s social fabric and cultural identity themselves

How the Amen Platform Actually Works?

Getting started with the Amen platform is straightforward. Residents can access it through or download the mobile app. The system lets users report concerns across three main areas:

1. Misleading Content

Amen platform
Misleading Content
  • False information and inaccurate reporting
  • Rumors that harm public interests
  • News articles or posts misrepresenting facts
  • Social media content spreading misinformation

2. Unsafe Content

Amen platform
Unsafe Content
  • Material promoting harmful ideologies
  • Posts that contradict societal values
  • Content offending community groups
  • Messages undermining UAE’s cultural identity

3. Non-Compliant Advertising

Amen platform
Non-Compliant Advertising
  • Unauthorized promotional content on social media
  • Advertisements published without Media Council approval
  • Unlicensed advertising collaborations

Using the Amen platform takes just minutes. Register with UAE Pass or continue as a guest, pick the relevant category, then submit your concern via links, screenshots, or voice notes. The process stays simple enough that anyone can participate.

Leadership’s Vision for Community Partnership

Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, chairman of the UAE National Media Office and the UAE Media Council, outlined the Amen platform embodies the leadership mantra to put people first above all else

“Content is a responsibility,” Al Hamed said. “It shapes society’s thinking, awareness, and attitudes, and reflects the nation’s image and standing. What we publish must elevate and benefit society, build positive awareness, and express our values”.

The Amen platform enables diverse voices across UAE society to partner in building responsible national media. This collaboration supports sustainable content growth while preserving credibility and informed engagement.

Connecting to Year of Community

The Secretary-General of the UAE Council of Media, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, observed that the Amen platform particularly suits the Year of Community launched by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Amen platform creates an interactive channel where community members help preserve values and raise awareness for future generations.

This initiative forms part of a broader regulatory framework the UAE Media Council keeps expanding to maintain professional, transparent, and accountable media that keeps pace with national progress.

Standards the Amen Platform Helps Protect

The Amen platform reinforces national media guidelines that all content creators and institutions must follow:

  • Respecting Islamic beliefs and other monotheistic religions
  • Honoring UAE governance and state institutions
  • Protecting national unity and avoiding divisions
  • Maintaining appropriate content for children
  • Preventing false news and rumors
  • Safeguarding individual privacy rights

Recent Complementary Measures

The Amen platform comes on the heels of the UAE’s latest Advertiser Permit system governing promotional material published on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and other media. These initiatives together provide all-round regulation ensuring digital and print media are kept beyond harm, trustworthy, and value-oriented.

Getting Started Today

Anyone living within the UAE immediately can start leveraging the Amen platform by visiting their website www.amen.ae or downloading the smartphone app. The interface stays user-friendly while UAE Pass integration ensures secure access.

The Amen platform embodies shared responsibility where government and community work together building media that genuinely reflects Emirati identity, supports national goals, and nurtures creativity.

The Amen platform proves that responsible media isn’t just about rules from above, it’s about community participation creating the kind of content environment everyone wants to live in.
