Look, travel to the UAE is not cumbersome any longer. The UAE visa on arrival just changed everything for Indian nationals. You no longer have to apply online weeks before your travel date. If you’ve got the right documentation, then you just walk off that plane and get your UAE visa on arrival stamp right there.

Who Actually Qualifies for This Thing?

Visa

Fundamentally, you need to be in possession of an Indian passport that is not expiring anytime soon. Yet, there is another aspect: one needs to have visited the following countries beforehand. By this, I mean having a valid visa or residence permit from:

  • USA (tourist visa, Green Card, anything showing you visited)
  • UK or any EU country
  • Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, or South Korea

If you have any of these stamps in your passport, you’re good for the **UAE visa on arrival**. They added a bunch of countries in early 2025, so more Indians became eligible. Pretty solid expansion, if you ask me.

Pick Your Stay Length

When you get your UAE visa on arrival, you choose:

Fourteen days for 100 dirhams – It’s cheap. You can pay extra 250 dirhams and stick around another two weeks if you need. Works for people unsure about timing.

Sixty days for 250 dirhams – You get two full months. No extending after that, so pick this if you know you need the time. Many people prefer it because you’re not constantly checking dates.

You pay when you land. Takes maybe ten to twenty minutes usually. The UAE visa on arrival line moves pretty quick at the airport.

What to Actually Pack?

Passport, Visa and Flight Ticket
  • Your passport, needs six months left on it, minimum.
  • That visa or residence permit showing you’ve been to one of the approved countries. It has to be real and not expired. An old cancelled one won’t cut it for the UAE visa on arrival.
  • Your return flight details or onward ticket. Just proof you’re leaving after your UAE visa on arrival expires.
  • Cash or cards showing you’ve got money. Not a strict rule, but helps when they ask.
  • Hotel booking or someone’s address where you’re staying. Good to have for the UAE visa on arrival process.

How It Goes Down?

You get off the plane. Head to immigration. Say you want the UAE visa on arrival. They flip through your passport, check that foreign visa. You pay your money. They stamp it. Done. You’ve got your UAE visa on arrival.

Seriously, as simple as that now; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah airports do it. Staff are used to it. The process of the UAE visa on arrival is smooth.

Important Stuff to Know

Your UAE visa on arrival lets you in one time only. You can’t leave and come back using the same one. Need another trip? You apply again. That’s just how the UAE visa on arrival works.

Don’t wait until your UAE visa on arrival runs out to leave. Overstaying is expensive and causes headaches. If you got the fourteen-day version, extend it before day fourteen ends.

The UAE visa on arrival only exists at airports. You can’t get it at land borders.

Why This Matters

Before the UAE visa on arrival rules opened up, visiting required planning everything months ahead. Online applications, waiting for replies, stressing. Now you book a flight on Wednesday and land Friday with your UAE visa on arrival. Changes everything.

Business people suddenly can attend meetings without advance notice. Families can visit when something comes up. Students can go home without bureaucratic stress. The UAE visa makes spontaneous travel real.

Real Talk

For Indians who have traveled to the countries on that approved list, the UAE visa is truly your ticket to easy travel. It removes all the headache from getting into the UAE. No more sitting by your computer refreshing your email. No more wondering if your application got lost. Just land, get stamped, and move on.

The UAE visa makes visiting the Emirates feel doable instead of annoying.
