1. Our Advertising Policy
Times of Dubai is an independent digital news platform covering Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and international news.
We may generate revenue through advertising, sponsored articles, paid press releases, branded content, and commercial partnerships. We are committed to transparency and aim to ensure that readers can distinguish paid promotional material from independent editorial content.
Advertising arrangements do not guarantee positive editorial coverage or influence our independent news reporting.
2. Branded Content
Times of Dubai publishes paid promotional material under a separate website category called “Branded Content.”
This category may include:
- Paid press releases submitted by companies, brands, public relations agencies, or their representatives.
- Sponsored articles promoting businesses, products, services, or initiatives.
- Partner content created or supplied in collaboration with organizations.
- Paid company announcements, business updates, product launches, and event announcements.
- Other promotional material accepted under our publishing guidelines.
Branded Content may be written by the client, supplied by a communications agency, or prepared or edited by our editorial team based on information provided by the client.
The Branded Content category identifies material published through our commercial publishing services. It should not be interpreted as a claim that every statement in an article has been independently verified by Times of Dubai.
3. Disclosure of Paid Content
Times of Dubai aims to make the commercial nature of paid content clear to readers.
Paid articles and press releases will be placed in the Branded Content category and may also carry labels such as “Sponsored,” “Paid Press Release,” or “Partner Content,” as appropriate.
We do not intend to present paid promotional material as independently produced news reporting.
Where a disclosure is necessary to make the commercial relationship clear, we will use an appropriate label or explanation in a prominent and understandable location.
4. Paid Press Releases
Businesses, agencies, and organizations may submit press releases for consideration for publication on Times of Dubai.
Paid press releases may cover company announcements, appointments, product launches, business developments, events, partnerships, and other relevant topics.
Publication is subject to editorial review and acceptance. Payment does not guarantee publication, favourable coverage, a particular search ranking, or endorsement by Times of Dubai.
We reserve the right to edit, reject, postpone, or remove submitted material where necessary.
5. Advertising Formats
Our advertising and commercial publishing services may include:
- Website banner advertisements.
- Sponsored articles and paid press releases.
- Branded Content and partner publications.
- Commercial features and other agreed promotional placements.
All commercial placements must be distinguishable from independent editorial reporting. Google-served advertisements will be presented in accordance with applicable advertising policies and must not be designed to mislead readers into confusing advertisements with editorial content.
6. Editorial Independence
Times of Dubai maintains a distinction between independent editorial coverage and commercial publishing services.
Advertisers, sponsors, and partners do not automatically receive control over our independent news decisions. A commercial relationship does not guarantee that we will publish a separate editorial article, provide favourable coverage, or change our editorial conclusions.
Branded Content reflects the nature of the publication arrangement and should not automatically be interpreted as an independent recommendation, endorsement, or verification by Times of Dubai.
7. Content Review and Accuracy
All advertising and branded-content submissions are subject to review.
We may review material for relevance, clarity, accuracy, legality, presentation, copyright concerns, and compliance with our publishing standards.
Advertisers and content providers are responsible for ensuring that their submissions:
- Contain accurate and non-misleading information.
- Do not make unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive claims.
- Respect copyright, trademarks, privacy, and other applicable rights.
- Have the necessary permissions for supplied text, images, logos, and other materials.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and relevant industry requirements.
We may request supporting documents or evidence before publication. We reserve the right to decline or remove material that does not meet our requirements.
8. Sponsored Links and Search Engine Guidelines
Paid content may contain links to an advertiser’s or partner’s website where appropriate.
Links that are included as part of a paid placement, sponsorship, or other compensation arrangement will be qualified using an appropriate link attribute, such as rel="sponsored", in accordance with Google’s applicable search guidance. The nofollow attribute may also be used where appropriate.
Payment for publication does not guarantee search-engine rankings, indexing, traffic, or SEO results.
Times of Dubai does not guarantee that search engines will index a particular article or count a paid link as a ranking signal.
9. Google AdSense and Advertising Compliance
Times of Dubai aims to comply with applicable Google Publisher Policies and AdSense Program Policies when using Google advertising services.
Our advertising practices are intended to ensure that:
- Advertisements are distinguishable from editorial content.
- Paid promotional material is not deliberately misrepresented as independent news.
- Website content and advertising placements comply with applicable publisher requirements.
- Advertisements do not improperly interfere with navigation or access to editorial content.
- Privacy disclosures and consent mechanisms are implemented where required.
The presence of this policy does not guarantee acceptance into Google AdSense or continued eligibility for advertising. Google makes its own eligibility and policy-enforcement decisions.

10. Restricted or Inappropriate Content
Times of Dubai may reject advertising or branded content that is unlawful, misleading, deceptive, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise inconsistent with our publishing standards.
We may apply additional review or restrictions to sensitive or regulated topics, including financial services, healthcare, gambling, alcohol, and other categories where applicable.
Acceptance of an advertisement or sponsored article does not constitute verification of the advertiser’s regulatory status or endorsement of its products or services.
11. Removal and Corrections
Times of Dubai reserves the right to correct, update, decline, or remove branded content when necessary, including where material is inaccurate, unlawful, misleading, or inconsistent with our policies.
Advertisers or content providers may contact us to report factual errors, rights concerns, or other legitimate issues concerning published material.
Any decision to revise or remove content will be assessed according to the circumstances and our publishing standards.
