Dubai, July 10, 2025 โ Dubai Metro Blue Line is ready to change public transport in the city. Construction is already running; this new metro line will add to major communities and sites, which will make the journey smooth for millions. Dubai Metro Blue Line: Connecting Communities
After the green lines in the Dubai Metro, the city will have the Blue Line Red and the third metro line. It will spread over 30 km and include 14 stations, including 9 high and 5 underground stops. The project is a major step in Dubai’s plan to improve its public transport and support city development.

The Dubai Metro Blue Line will serve nine key areas:
- Dubai International Airport (DXB)
- Mirdif
- Al Warqa
- International City 1 and 2
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
- Ras Al Khor Industrial Area
- Dubai Creek Harbour
- Dubai Festival City
The new line will reduce travel time and road traffic by 20 per cent to reach Dubai International Airport from many neighborhoods in just 20 minutes. The Dubai Metro Blue Line will also cross the historic Dubai Creek through 1.3 km bridge, which is the first time for the city’s metro system.
Station Locations and Route Details
The Dubai Metro will have three major interchange stations in the Blue Line: Al-Half (Green Line), Al-Rashidiya (Red Line), and International City-1. These will make it easy for passengers to switch between metro lines and reach more destinations across Dubai.

Here are the 14 confirmed station locations for the Dubai Metro Blue Line:
- Al Jaddaf (interchange with Green Line)
- Dubai Festival City
- Dubai Creek Harbour (home to the worldโs tallest metro station)
- Ras Al Khor
- International City 1 (interchange station)
- International City 2
- International City 3
- Dubai Silicon Oasis
- Academic City
- Al Rashidiya (Centrepoint, interchange with Red Line)
- Mirdif
- Al Warqa
- Plus two additional stations serving the route between these key areas
The Dubai Creek Harbour station, also called Emaar Properties Station, will stand 74 meters tall and is designed to handle up to 160,000 passengers daily. The Dubai Metro Blue Line will also feature a main depot at Al Ruwayyah.
Opening Date and Future Impact
With an expectation to be operational by 2029, the Dubai Metro Blue Line is one such project. Sanctioned in November 2023, this project carries an investment value of AED 18 billion. May the first stone of the first station be laid in the presence of the ruler of Dubai on June 9, 2025.

Once operational, the Dubai Metro Blue Line will:
- Extend the metro network to 131 kilometers and 78 stations
- Serve a population growth of around one million people
- Support Dubaiโs 2040 Urban Master Plan for sustainable, connected living
