Dubai has witnessed a powerful step toward sustainability and inclusion. The Monk, a popular restaurant chain, has launched a public awareness film supporting the Dubai Government’s plastic ban directive Led by People of Determination. This initiative stands out because People of Determination lead the film. It is the first campaign of its kind in the UAE. The film forms the heart of SHARE TO CARE by The Monk, a movement that brings together sustainability, inclusion, and community action.
The project sends a strong message about protecting the environment while celebrating human ability. It also highlights how inclusive leadership can inspire real change. The film aims to encourage residents and businesses to reduce plastic use in daily life.
A Film with a Purpose
The film is titled “Raising Awareness with Rising Spirits.” It was written and directed by Binesh Babu Panicker. The story places People of Determination at the center of environmental advocacy. They do not just appear on screen. They guide the message and lead the narrative.
Binesh Babu Panicker explained that the film reflects the idea of Reverse Inclusion. He shared that when inspiring voices lead, people listen more closely. The cast showed how to care for the planet and support each other. Their leadership added depth and honesty to the message.
Supporting the Plastic Ban Directive
The Monk supported the film to align with the Dubai Government’s plastic ban directive. The brand has already removed plastic carry bags and cutlery from all outlets. These items are now replaced with recyclable alternatives.
Operations Manager Gene Bacolod said sustainability and inclusion define the brand’s values. He added that having People of Determination lead the message made the initiative more meaningful. Customers and staff connected deeply with the film’s purpose.
