The Explosive Start
IPL 2026 KKR Suffers Second Straight Defeat as SRH dominated at Eden Gardens. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma’s explosive start put the two-time champions on the back foot, while Heinrich Klaasen’s finishing touch ensured a commanding 65-run victory for Hyderabad.
Travis Head smashed 46 off 21 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, before getting out to a short-of-a-length ball at 142 kph from Tyagi in the 6th over, caught by Cameron Green.
Abhishek Sharma continued the power hitting with a score of 48 off 21 balls. Muzarabani got his wicket with a great catch by Varun Chakravarthy.
By the end of the powerplay, SRH were flying, but KKR’s Zimbabwean player, Blessing Muzarabani, turned the tables.
The Fightback by Muzarabani
The Zimbabwean pacer Blessing Muzarabani rose as the lone warrior for the Knight Riders. Using his height and pace, he broke the back of the SRH middle order just as they started to fight back.
Muzarabani got the wickets of Abhishek Sharma (48) and Ishan Kishan (14), slowing the run rate during the middle of the match. He finished with figures of 4/41, providing the Eden Gardens crowd a reason to cheer for his team.
In Death Over
While wickets fell at one end, Heinrich Klaasen proved why he is one of the best T20 finishers in the world right now. Klaasen played a knock of 52 off 35 balls, getting SRH the 220+ total runs.
He was supported by Nitish Kumar Reddy, who scored 39 off 24 balls. Their partnership ensured that, despite wickets, they could still score a winnable total.
Clinical SRH Bowling
SRH bowlers were flying today. Jaydev Unadkat (3/21) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (2/17) broke the middle order. KKR’s hopes finally ended when Raghuvanshi was run out for a second time.
KKR’s losing back-to-back
KKR’s 0-2 record shows a concern for the two-time IPL champions. While the batting showed sparks through Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the team has struggled with major issues: bowling at the death & the NRR deficit.
