2 Ballistic Missiles and 3 UAV’s from Iran Tackled on Friday
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that on Friday May 8, 2026, the UAE air defence systems engaged 2 ballistic missiles and 3 UAV’s launched from Iran, resulting in 3 moderate injuries.
On its official handle on X, the ministry stated that since the beginning of the blatant Iranian attacks on the United Arab Emirates, the air defences have engaged a total of 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,263 UAV’s.
This brings the total number of injuries to 230, involving multiple nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepali, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, Tunisian, Moroccan, and Russian.
The post further read that the total number of martyrs has reached 3, including one civilian of Moroccan nationality contracted with the armed forces, while the total number of civilian fatalities stands at 10 from the following nationalities: Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian, and Egyptian.

UAE Wakes up to Reports of Fresh Attacks
The UAE residents woke up to the news of fresh attacks from Iran as reports suggested the country’s air defenses were responding to attacks
Sounds of ariel interception were heard in Fujairah, as per reports. The news comes even as the ‘ceasefire talks’ between US Israel and Iran enter its 31st day. Earlier this week, the Ministry of Defence reported that the UAE had thwarted as many as 12 attacks from the Iranian side that was the reason for a fire incident at Fujairah Oil Industries.
Even as more details of today’s attack are awaited, US President Donald Trump has stressed that the ceasefire with Iran is still in place even after a clash between the two sides in the Strait of Hormuz for which both blamed each other.
Fresh Attacks from Iran
As per news just coming in, the UAE is responding to fresh attacks. There are reports of sounds being heard in Fujairah from aerial interceptions. More details are awaited.
UAE Air Defences are now Dealing with a Missile Threat
Just an hour ago, National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority or NCEMA UAE has confirmed on its X account that the country’s Air defense systems are responding to a missile threat. “Please remain in a safe location and follow official channels for warnings and updates,” the post further reads.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the sounds heard in some areas of the country are the result of the interceptions of missiles and drones coming from Iran.
On Monday, May 4th, Iran once again renewed its missile attacks on the UAE, within just 26 days of the ongoing ceasefire talks between US-Israel and Iran.
