September 26, 2025, Dubai, UAE– The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is set to celebrate 12 years of participation at WETEX 2025. This event will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at Dubai World Trade Centre. The “WETEX 2025” highlights the renewed partnership and strong showing of Italian companies at this international sustainability exhibition.
This year, the Italian Pavilion spans 600 square metres, hosting 49 Italian exhibitors. This number is up 11% compared to 2024 when 44 firms participated. WETEX 2025 will see start-ups and established leaders display their latest clean energy, water, and environmental technologies. The strong Italian presence showcases a growing partnership between Italy and the UAE centred on WETEX 2025.
Rising Exports and Bilateral Trade
Recent data show that Italian exports of renewable energy technologies to the UAE reached €130.6 million from January to May 2025. This is a 3% increase over the same period last year, solidifying Italy’s position as the UAE’s fourth-largest supplier in this important market. Most of these exports include pumps, compressors, and water purification equipment, making up over 80% of Italy’s specialised exports related to WETEX 2025.

Last year, Italian exports soared to a record €279.9 million, up 37% from 2023. Italian technology made up nearly 12% of the UAE’s renewable imports, reflecting high trust in “Made in Italy” solutions. WETEX 2025 enables Italy to further strengthen its reputation for innovation in clean energy and sustainability.
The partnership’s momentum is also shown in overall trade figures. Italy remains the UAE’s top European Union trading partner. Non-oil trade between both two countries reached $14.1 billion in 2024, a 21% rise from the previous year. UAE’s commitment is evident from its pledge of a $40 billion investment into Italy in February 2025, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, renewable energy, and advanced infrastructure.
Strategic Growth and Collaboration at WETEX 2025
WETEX 2025 is a key platform for Italian companies aiming to expand into the Middle East’s clean energy sector. With easy access to government officials and institutional stakeholders, Italian exhibitors participate in structured B2B and B2G meetings. These interactions help Italian businesses generate valuable leads, set up commercial agreements, and build lasting relationships in the region. The strong results from WETEX 2025 show how the event drives both visibility and business development opportunities.

Mr. Lorenzo Fanara, Italy’s Ambassador to the UAE, said, “WETEX 2025 is a vital stage to show Italy’s leadership in renewable energy and sustainability. The Italian Pavilion, with 49 companies on 600 square metres, highlights our advanced technology and commitment to the UAE’s sustainability goals. Supporting small and medium businesses and driving collaboration, Italy is proud to contribute to the UAE’s vision for a greener future.”
Mr. Valerio Soldani, ITA Trade Commissioner in Dubai, added, “The steady growth in Italian renewable energy exports to the UAE, exceeding €130 million in early 2025, puts Italy as the UAE’s fourth-largest supplier at WETEX 2025. Our companies are leaders in key segments, pumps, compressors, and water management, which account for 80% of our specialised exports showcased at WETEX 2025.”
He also highlighted broader technology exports, stating, “Italy’s mechanical and industrial technology sector reached €1.5 billion in 2024, with €712.7 million exported in the first five months of 2025 up 18%. WETEX 2025 proves the strategic importance of Italian innovation for UAE’s clean energy transition.”

For Italian firms in solar energy, water management, and clean technology, WETEX 2025 is more than an exhibition; it is a gateway to building partnerships, benchmarking innovations, and reaching government buyers directly.
As the event draws near, both countries are set to benefit from continued growth, innovation, and collaboration. Italy’s strong presence at WETEX 2025 highlights a lasting and growing partnership with the UAE, showcasing joint commitment to sustainable development and economic progress in the region.
