December  29, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: The Kerala-based conglomerate goes airline business with Regulatory Approval to be a Domestic Carrier. The AlHind group is now evolving beyond its role as the biggest pilgrimage service provider into a full-scale aviation operator, introducing New airlines in India.

Al Hind group, which is among the largest companies in the UAE travel industry, has become one of the only two companies that received permission by the Civil Aviation Ministry to fly in India. When Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced the permission of Al Hind group and FlyExpress on Tuesday, people stretched their eyes to understand what this entails for the group in leaping into the aviation industry. Industry analysts say the AlHind group will utilise its strong foundation as the biggest pilgrimage service in the UAE for expansion, bringing New airlines in India.

Travel Services to Aviation: the Al Hind Group Journey

Most of its gigs are in the UAE nowadays, though Al Hind group began in Kerala in the early 1990s as a travel and tourism conglomerate. The current key figure of the company is Mohammed Haris T, a good-looking, popular face in pilgrimage services. He is, in fact, the founder and general secretary of the Indian Hajj Umrah Association and has plenty of experience in the travel industry.

Harisi was born in Calicut and had a Bachelor’s degree in History and Economics with a little overture into Pharmacology. Under his leadership, Al Hind group has become one of the biggest pilgrimage service providers in the UAE, building a solid reputation for reliable travel and tourism for over 30 years. This long-standing reputation proves why the AlHind group is widely regarded as the biggest pilgrimage service brand connecting India and the UAE and introducing New airlines in India.

Planned Growth and Infrastructure Development

Al Hind group has a history of travel and tourism. They entered the Middle East in 1995 and opened a B2B travel portal in 2014. The next step to aviation does not appear hard, and it is an extension of their main strength in mobility and travel services by introducing new airlines in India. They estimate a turnover of over 20,000 crore by 2030, and that is a big show-stopper figure, as this means that they have the funds to support this new business. The AlHind group’s aviation entry is seen as a natural expansion of the biggest pilgrimage service network they have built over the decades.

The company’s web gives us the information that the new airlines in India are going to have its base in Kochi, and will be operating in collaboration with Cochin International Airport Limited to establish the hub.

By selecting Kochi for the new airlines in India, they give tribute to their Kerala heritage and place the carrier in a position to operate to the national destinations as well as possibly connecting to the Middle Eastern hubs, where they already dominate.

The fleet of the airlines will be inaugurated with a fleet of ATR 72 600s, initially, with domestic travel, which is effective and dependable. The Al Hind group is preparing to become a regional commuter airline, which will start its operations later in the year and has begun with introducing new airlines in India.

The selection of the ATR 72-600 highlights their concern with connecting the regions and exploiting underserved markets. Analysts call this a bold move as the AlHind group ensures its biggest pilgrimage service clients will benefit from easier connectivity.

Process and Timeline for the New Airlines in India

The airline, nowadays, is scurrying to acquire an Air Operator Certificate, which is a required regulatory authorisation without which no commercial services can commence. That is done by demonstrating that they comply with safety requirements, operational procedures, and maintenance requirements provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for the new airlines in India.

The decision of the Al Hind group to enter into Indian aviation industry is at a time when the industry is introducing New airlines in India. The UDAN scheme initiated by the government has given players new opportunities to operate at airports and routes they serve poorly.

The business of pilgrimage services established by Al Hind group, in terms of the experience it had acquired in logistics, customer service, and operational management, forms a strong foundation for this aviation portfolio.

According to industry observers, the fact that Al Hind group has a serious insight into passenger needs, particularly in the religious tourism niche, can have a competitive advantage. They already have relationships with the customers in India and the UAE, which might aid them in promoting the new airline and attracting the early customers.

This advantage emerges from the AlHind group being the biggest pilgrimage service partner trusted by lakhs of passengers. An Indian entrepreneurship that has been scaled worldwide is the Al Hind group, which is a textbook example of Indian entrepreneurship. The recent announcement of an airline in India by the group is another step towards the development of the group in the newer business segments of the broader mobility and travelling ecosystem, after starting as a travel service back in the 1990s. The growth of the AlHind group from the biggest pilgrimage service operator to an airline reflects its strong global ambition.
