June 26, 2025 | Dubai, UAE – Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption was one of the key agreements made in the 12th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. This JMC session was conducted after a long gap of 13 years in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Thursday. The meeting was scheduled for October 2024. 

The session was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and by the correspondent, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting outlined many important domains, namely, technological, political, and economic. However, the prime highlight of the session was the Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption. It was also mentioned that the meeting went on very late until night, but remained highly effective and fruitful, as the Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption agreement along with many more, were outlined.

Core Highlights Of The Meeting

  1. Visa Exemption For Citizens of UAE and PAK

The Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption agreement between the two nations came as a big step to ease the cross-border passage. Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mutually waive the visa requirements for their citizens. The initiative aims to open up movement for tourism and travel, business and cultural tie,s simplifying mobility.

  1. Joint Task Force For Mutual Economic Lift

Both nations also made a move in uplifting economic cooperation by announcing the creation of a joint task force. Other than Pakistan, the UAE entry visa exemption, the meeting focused on economic and digital advancements too in Pakistan UAE Entry Visa Exemption. It primarily encourages investments in Pakistan’s core sector, and it also identifies and focuses on developing new sectors and coordinating economies. This MoU was signed by the UAE’s Minister of Investment, Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, and Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Tariq Bajwa.

  1. Mutual Growth in Tech Domains

The third agreement that was inked between the two countries concerned cooperative technological advancements, primarily artificial intelligence and the economy. The agreement was signed by Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi and Pakistan’s Federal Secretary of IT and Telecommunications, Zarar Hashim Khan. It aimed at joint innovations and profitable advancements. 

  1. Other Areas That Were Monitored

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, UAE, praised the harmony of the longstanding nature of UAE-Pakistan relations, which began in 1971. He also noted the consistent growth in economic ties, with non-oil bilateral trade surpassing US$8.6 billion in 2024. They also underlined the need for strengthening communications across ministries so the plans can be executed flawlessly, with Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption being a stepping stone for the same.

Pre-Meeting To Set The Foundation

Ahead of the official initiation of the JMC session between the UAE and Pakistan, a preparatory meeting group was convened to align priorities and lay the groundwork for seamless, meaningful conversations. The session was headed by Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Tariq Bajwa, and UAE Minister of State, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh respectivelyng Pakistan UAE Entry Visa Exemption.

Officials from both parties conducted a comprehensive review of UAE and Pakistan’s bilateral ties so far. They accounted for the current progress and explored avenues for future collaborations. The thorough discussions set a dynamic agenda that will account for a wide range of domains such as trade, banking, investment, and energy. It will also include critical infrastructure domains like aviation and railways, and the areas for essential human development such as food security, education, and manpower.

Reinforcing the Reciprocal Relations

Seeing the 93% increase in non-immigrant visas in 2023, Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption and the joint economic developments after the UAE committed to investing $10 billion in the Pakistani economy, there is little left to doubt between the formidable alliance of Pakistan with the Emirates. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, who co-chaired the JMC, posted on X.

Earlier this year, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif landed in the UAE for a one-day visit. He met UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and offered prayers for the prosperity of both countries. They also held bilateral discussions to strengthen cooperation across economic and development sectors. They also talked about promoting global peace and diplomatic resolutions to confront crises internationally.

The 12th JMC session held in Abu Dhabi was evident in strengthening relations between Pakistan and the UAE. Agreements upon issues like Pakistan UAE entry visa exemption, and a joint task force highlight nations’ vision of an interdependent development for the country and their public. Based on the fulfilling sessions and progressive developments, both countries have decided to host the 13th Joint Ministerial Commission in Pakistan on a mutually agreed-upon date.
