On March 23, authorities of Sharjah have introduced Sharjah free parking, due to heavy rainfall and worse weather conditions across the UAE. The decision has taken to help residents and motorists navigating challenging conditions of road.
Applies to All Public Parking Zones
All public parking areas in the UAE falls under the Sharjah free parking initiative. This also involves areas that normally require payment whole week and even while official holidays, generally marked by blue informational signs.

Resumption to Depend on Weather Updates
Officials assured that the time period of Sharjah free parking will depend on current weather developments. The municipality will give updates related to the return of paid parking services based on changing conditions.
Recent Free Parking During Eid
Previous 3-day Sharjah free parking period during the Eid Al Fitr holidays is followed by this move, showing continued attempt to ease public inconvenience during special or difficult time.
Unstable Weather Expected Throughout the Week
The UAE is now experiencing a wave of unstable weather. Rainfall is expected to move across different regions— coastal, inland, northern, eastern, and southern areas—throughout the week, stated the National Centre of Meteorology.

Safety Advice
During this period, safety of people remains the first priority, according to authorities. Bikers are requested to drive cautiously, mainly in areas with less visibility or water gathering. While, airlines and airports have advised passengers to reach up to 4 hours early in order to avoid weather-related delays.
