September 23, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: In the city of Sharjah, the news of the Sharjah royal’s death has been circulating in the headlines. The declaration by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and the King of Sharjah, confirmed that the mourning prayer will take place at the King Faisal Mosque and the burial at Al Jabil Cemetery. This form of melancholic grief shows both the respect and the position of the one who left, from the ruling family.

Who Was the Sharjah Royal and His Role?

Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalid Bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi was a member of the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. There have been no extensive details about him or the roles he played; the sudden declaration of his demise through an official body underlines his significance among the Royal Family and to the King of Sharjah.

The Royal Council’s decision to plan a 3 day mourning is only for close filial members whose presence, hierarchy, or public presence is necessary. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are undergoing a period of grief, condolences, respect, and unanimity with the one who departed.

This period of grief will begin on Tuesday with the nation’s flags lowered and authorised receptions of condolences planned. Solace will be at the Majlis of Sheikh Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi in the Al-Rumaila area.

Grieving Period of the Sharjah Royal’s Death

The mourning rites will commence in the morning at the King Faisal Mosque, followed by the burial in Al Jabil Cemetery. The time will be three days, during which the city will follow official signs of mourning. The nation’s flag will be hoisted at half-mast, and members will also offer their condolences.

The Royal Reception for Salis begins tomorrow at the Planned Majlis in the designated area. This time allows the natives to pay their condolences, remember the deceased, and participate in the community. It is a time to reflect upon his demise.

Community Responses and Traditional Significance

The news of the Sharjah royal’s death has circulated across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and the natives have started sharing their condolences, and social media shows grief for the death of a valuable member. Members of the royal family and authorities are required to issue public statements as part of the mourning rites. While some individuals grieve alone, there is a public mourning time that provides a space for remembrance.

According to the culture, such events are rooted in the native’s life. Grieving rituals give out opportunities for the family leadership hierarchy and traditions. Also, the three-day mourning is a thoughtful gesture for royal families to align with citizens beyond formal boundaries. It redefines the legacy, the history, and their identity.

What to Expect Ahead?

Many public gatherings, exhibitions, and performances will be postponed as a mark of respect for the deceased. The journalism agencies will cover the tribute to his life, the story of his work, his role in the loyal family, and his contributions to society. Over the coming days, one may learn about his roles, accolades, and what he does for the community.

For many in Saudi Arabia, this loss is painful, and the mourning period will be succeeded by appreciation for the traditions, for culture, society, and sustainability that their loyal family represents.

The Sharjah royal’s death reflects a period of deep-rooted melancholy for the city. With the 3 day mourning period, the Emirate remembers him for his contributions and for his introspection. The mourning rites at King Faisal Mosque and the burial will bring together the members of the royal family and the nation. Such moments embody the leadership tradition. As the city mourns, it also redefines itself in traditions, in oneness, and in upholding the legacies of its royalty.
