August 4, 2025 | Dubai, UAE – The T20I Pakistan vs Afghanistan Tri series in UAE has been announced ahead of the Asia Cup.
As a push to their preparations for the Asia Cup tournament, a T20I Pakistan vs Afghanistan Tri series in UAE was announced in the renowned Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7, by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). The T20I series before the Asia Cup was announced on Thursday.
The matches featuring teams Pakistan vs Afghanistan Tri series in UAE will have each of the three teams play the others twice in a six-match group stage, with the top two winning teams progressing to the finals held on September 7.
“The tournament will provide the ideal preparation opportunity to the three teams ahead of the eight-team ACC Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the UAE from September 9,” the ECB said in a statement.
UAE’s Recent Triumph Trajectory
The UAE cricket team’s progress is moving upwards at an impressive pace, with more recognition in the T20 matches.
In the Asia Cup, the UAE have been divided into Group A. This pits them against strong cricket teams like India and Pakistan. The matches for the UAE have been scheduled on September 10 against India and then on September 17 against Pakistan.

The UAE’s game has improved much over the last two years. A few months before 2025, the UAE beat Bangladesh in a historic win by 2-1in a home series match. The match was also UAE’s first-ever series win against a test-level team. UAE’s team has also won over strong opponents like West Indies, New Zealand and Afghanistan in the T20 games.
In recent matches, the team displayed a good performance in the Pearl of Africa, in Uganda, where UAE won four out of six matches that were held and came second. These games are a boost to the team’s morale in the coming Pakistan vs Afghanistan Tri series in UAE and then the big tournament of Asia Cup in September.
