The leader of the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) on Wednesday honored the UAE Armed Forces on the occasion of their Golden Jubilee, which is 50 years of their historic unification under one flag.
A National Milestone
Director General of the FTA, His Excellency Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla, said the anniversary is an occasion that the nation should take to reflect on one of the most defining milestones of the nation.
Al Mulla added that this occasion is a recollection of the sagacious vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow Founding Fathers, who aspired towards the creation of a unified force of the nation, which would gain more power and would support the foundations of the Union.
Many Forces to One
The merging of the Armed Forces of the UAE, he observed, was a critical change to take the country out of disintegrated military structures and establish an integrated system of defence, with a single command and military doctrine.
What started as a strategic move 50 years ago, he added, has evolved to be a world-class military institution – an institution that has become one of the highest international standards and an institution that has been adopted as a symbol of national unity and the strength of the state.

A Jubilee at a Pivotal Moment
The Golden Jubilee, according to Al Mulla, would be a timely occurrence in the current history of the country, as the leadership of the UAE would be driving forward to meet the goal of building a future that is anchored on innovation and sustainability.
“Our Armed Forces have been busy over the last 50 years in keeping safe and sound our national progress and the security and stability that makes any progress possible”, he said.
A Renewed Commitment
The FTA leader noted that the anniversary rejuvenates a feeling of national dedication to the journey it is embarking on.
Not only the building that has been built, but the values that were built into the building, unity, dedication and service to the nation, concluded Al Mulla.
