The GCC council issued an ardent statement of condemnation of the UAE consulate attack in Iraq and referred to the incident as an escalatory threatening development that would put diplomatic protection at risk.

The UAE country received the support of several countries in the Middle East after the UAE consulate attack in Iraq. The regional leaders emphasized the need to implement security of diplomatic missions and avoid/prevent further violence. Embassy and consul attacks would help to create a dangerous escalation of tensions in the region in case incidents of such attacks continue, warned the officials. The State of Qatar demonstrated its great disapproach for the attack as well. The ministry of foreign affairs in a statement reported by Qatar News Agency (QNA) described the act as an outrageous breach of international practices and conventions that safeguard diplomatic missions and their compounds. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs referred to the recurring attack on diplomatic premises as a violation of international laws and norms, the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, in particular, and emphasized the need to appreciate the inviolability of diplomatic missions.
