Dubai, UAE , December 5, 2025: The UAE December Weather is like a blessing, as it finally brings the cool, pleasant days and nights in place of the high unbearable temperatures that the country experiences most of the year. The arrival of winter brings about a significant drop in the temperature as well as the humidity level. These changes in the atmosphere come as an invitation for the people to participate in various activities like the ones mentioned above in the case of outdoor activities, tourism, and local festivals. The present article provides an overview of the main characteristics of UAE’s December weather such as temperature, humidity, and fog trends, as well as rainfall and winds impact on life and activities.

Temperature Drops Marking Winter’s Arrival

The month of December in the UAE is a time of temperature drop which is very noticeable when compared with November. Average temperatures of the whole country are at 17.7°C to 21.8°C. The first part of the day is when the temperatures are the highest going from 21.7°C to 27.4°C and at the same time the lowest temperatures causing the nighttime to be between 12.9°C and 17.4°C. Among the different places in the UAE, cold nights are most pronounced in the desert and mountain areas where the temperature goes even lower.

To illustrate, Jabal Jais has recorded temperatures as low as below freezing. Coastal cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are somewhat moderated by the sea but they still feel rather pleasant compared to the hot months that have just gone by. The northwesterly winds get stronger owing to the high-pressure systems that bring in the high air density and the coolness that characterizes UAE December weather. The cooler weather has made December a hot season for outdoor adventures and the festive season.

Increased Humidity and Foggy Mornings

The UAE humid air’s condition also gets worse in December. The humidity level during this month is about 63 percent. In the early morning hours, the humidity is often at its highest level which is 79 to 90 percent, and this happens a lot in the coastal areas which are mainly covered by fog and mist. The UAE has had foggy days in December for as many as 20 days in some years when visibility was so poor that it was a problem for the morning travelers.

The humid air is coming from the Arabian Gulf, which makes the moisture stay there for a long time and hence form fog. The fog might bring about some inconveniences, but it surely increases the beauty of the season. It’s customary that people are reminded to be careful whenever there are fogs in the mornings especially drivers so that safety on the roads can be guaranteed.

Rainfall, Winds, and Weather Variability

Rainfall is something that the UAE hardly ever sees, but from time to time it does come, mainly in December, and sometimes it is even followed by thunderstorms. If it happens at all, then the rain in this month would be short-lived but very strong at the same time. To give an example, there was over 200 mm of rainfall in Dhudna in one of December’s events a long time ago. In a nutshell, about two rainy days and 10 to 15 mm of total rainfall are the characteristics of December in the entire country.

In December what the weather will mostly be like is light to moderate wind that averages around 11 km/h however, there have been strong gusts recorded that reached up to 87 km/h sometimes. These winds coming from the northwest are responsible for bringing cooler air to the area and thus making the atmosphere more pleasant. All in all, the month of December is characterized by a dry and sunny climate with moderate winds that provide comfort for outdoor activities.

Impact on Lifestyle, Tourism, and Economy

The weather in the UAE during December is wonderful, and this plays an important part in people’s lives and the economy of the area. The beauty of the season has spread all over the place and sports like swimming, hiking, and even visiting the desert have turned into regular things to do. During this period the ocean is still quite popular for swimming because of its warm water and the parks are full of children and their parents playing in the colder climate.

The climate is so good that it attracts many people to the festivals, holiday markets, and social events that are happening. It is the time of the year when the tourism industry is at its zenith as visitors from cold regions come to the UAE for the mild winter sun. Retail sales also reach their peak due to holiday shopping and amazing discounts. Lowered temperatures also enable the construction workers, who usually suffer a lot from the heat, to move faster on the projects.Additionally, the energy use in both homes and offices is lower since air conditioning is not that much used, therefore leading to lower costs.

In conclusion, the UAE weather in December can be characterized by cool days, humid nights, occasional rains, and gentle breezes which herald the winter season. This seasonal change brings along with it a very pleasant atmosphere that can be enjoyed through recreation, tourism, and celebrations. The combination of mild temperatures and the seasonal moist air is what makes December one of the loveliest months in the Emirates for both the residents and the visitors. Provided that the necessary precautions for fog and changing conditions are taken, everyone is welcome to experience the wonderful UAE December weather to the max, hence forming the perfect time for creating unforgettable experiences and having a refreshing winter season.
