In the UAE, there are different fuel grades, each for specific types of vehicles and their respective engine needs. The UAE petrol price for August and all other months is decided keeping in mind these differences.
The Super 98 petrol is a high-octane petrol designed for high-performance engines and luxury vehicles. It allows powerful engines to run smoother and makes them more efficient.
The Super 95 petrol is also a high-quality fuel but it is an unleaded fuel. It is made for vehicles that demand a slightly lower octane level than Super 98 but still require strong performance.
E-Plus 91 petrol is the lowest and very basic fuel grade available. It is commonly suitable for standard cars, commercial vehicles, and fleets. Although it is most affordable, it will only work for vehicles whose engines do not demand high-octane fuel.

Diesel is best for fueling larger vehicles such as buses, trucks, and trains as it is known for its fuel efficiency and power. It should be noted that using diesel as a fuel in cars that run on petrol will be very harmful to the engine and should be avoided.
Main Factors Changing Fuel Costs in 2025
The UAE petrol price for August has been regulated keeping in mind various key factors. One of the major factors that decides the petrol prices is the fluctuations in global oil prices. Changes in the international oil markets often have a direct impact on retail fuel prices. Supply and demand forecast for the month also plays a role in price regulations. Busy or holiday seasons see a surge in travel leading to higher prices. Currency fluctuations compared to the US dollar and the local taxes set by the government also affect the fuel prices.
Steady Shift in UAE Petrol Price For August
“The US-Japan agreement, which reduces tariffs on automobile imports while securing major investment pledges in the US, has supported oil prices. At the same time, ongoing talks between Washington and the European Union are boosting hopes for further trade easing, which could strengthen demand expectations for crude,” said Osama Al Saifi, managing director for Mena at Traze.
As the global oil prices dropped slightly in July, the Brent crude averaged at $68.80 per barrel from $69.87 last month. These reflect a steady price or modest shift in UAE petrol price for August, maintaining the country’s place among the world’s 25 cheapest for petrol.

Stable fuel prices are helping control inflation as well, which stood at 1.4% in Q1 2025. The Central Bank also revised the year’s inflation forecast from 2% to 1.9%.
