Emergency teams recovered victims and rescued one survivor as authorities warn people to avoid wadi channels during unstable weather.
Tragic Incident in Wadi Al Maawil
In Wadi Al Maawil which is situated in Oman’s South Al Batinah Governorate, 2 people died after 3 vehicles were swept away by powerful water currents in a wadi channel. The incident shows the threat related with flash flooding and shows the importance of wadi flood safety during worse weather conditions.
Rescue Operations and Casualties
Civil Defense units and ambulance services along with emergency teams, rushed immediately after the incident was reported. In starting, officials reported 1 fatality while searching process continued for a missing individual. In another update, officials confirmed the recovery of the third person, who was also found dead, increasing the total death toll to two. Due to timely response, one individual was successfully rescued and reported to be in normal condition.
