Review Overview

August 14, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: The Wednesday season 2 review you’ve been waiting for is here and if you’ve been counting down the days to see Jenna Ortega’s deadpan queen back on screen, you’re not alone. After three long years, Wednesday Addams returns, black braids intact and eyes still capable of throwing daggers with a single blink. But while the new season delivers its share of mystery, gothic flair, and creepy laughs, it’s also carrying more storylines than it knows what to do with.

The Same Wednesday, Just With More Chaos

In the Wednesday season 2 review, the biggest question fans had was: would the show still have the same sharp wit and offbeat humour that made Season 1 a cult hit? The answer is partly. Ortega’s Wednesday still burns posters in front of her classmates without batting an eyelid, still delivers lines that could cut glass, and still manages to make us root for her even when she’s at her most antisocial.

But Season 2 also throws in a lot more and more family drama, more villains, more supernatural chaos. We’re talking devilish crows, sudden popularity she despises, and parents Morticia and Gomez showing up for extended storylines. While Catherine Zeta-Jones’s Morticia is as gorgeously eerie as ever, the overstuffed plot sometimes dilutes the weird charm we fell in love with.

Murder, Mystery, and Murder Crows

One of the standout elements in the Wednesday season 2 review is the new central mystery: brutal town murders carried out by menacing black crows that seem straight out of a fever dream. And of course, because it’s Wednesday, these attacks are somehow linked to her. The tension is real, you might even find yourself glancing nervously at pigeons on your balcony.

But it’s not just about creepy birds. The season tries to juggle multiple arcs including a layered mother-daughter storyline between Wednesday and Morticia, plus an exploration of Morticia’s own strained relationship with her mother. Then there’s Wednesday’s brother Pugsley, whose school subplots feel a little too neat and convenient. It’s intriguing, but at times, it feels like the series forgot that Wednesday and Enid’s friendship was one of its beating hearts in Season 1.

Humour That Doesn’t Always Hit

When people clicked on the Wednesday season 2 review, many probably wanted to know: is it still funny? Well… yes and no. The dark humour is still present, but some of it feels forced. The sharp, clever banter from Season 1 that made viewers snort-laugh is replaced by moments that try too hard to remind us, “Hey, remember how antisocial she is?” It becomes repetitive quickly.

That said, Jenna Ortega still shines when the writing allows her to. Her confrontation with Tyler ,the murderer from Season 1 is electric. It’s the kind of sharp, cutting exchange that makes you sit up and think, yes, that’s the Wednesday I know. But these moments are scattered rather than constant, leaving some episodes feeling flatter than expected and you can get to know about more in Wednesday season 2 review.

Will Part Two Save the Season?

So far, Netflix has only released the first four episodes, with the rest coming next month. The Wednesday season 2 review wouldn’t be complete without admitting that while the current batch has its flaws, it still sets the stage for a potentially stronger finish. If the upcoming episodes can lean back into the weird, unexpected energy of Season 1, the “dancing to Goo Goo Muck” kind of magic, then there’s hope this season can stick the landing.

For now, Wednesday Addams is still one of TV’s most fascinating characters, and Jenna Ortega’s performance alone makes Season 2 worth watching. Yes, the narrative is a little crowded. Yes, the humour occasionally misses its mark. But when Wednesday stares straight into the camera with that mix of disdain and intrigue, you remember why you showed up in the first place.

The Wednesday season 2 review verdict? Watch it for Ortega, stay for the murder mystery, and cross your fingers for a second half that brings the weird back in full force.
