August 27, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: The much-awaited Apple foldable iPhone is finally becoming a reality, with reports confirming a launch in fall 2026. For years, Apple fans have wondered when the company would step into the foldable phone market, and now the wait seems to be ending. The new device is expected to open like a book, feature Touch ID on the side button, and come in elegant black and white colours.

Experts say the Apple foldable iPhone could be one of Apple’s most ambitious projects, combining the best of an iPhone and an iPad in one device.

A Foldable Design Like a Book

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Apple foldable iPhone will have a book-style design, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. When the phone is closed, it will look like a normal iPhone with an outer screen of around 5 to 6 inches. But when unfolded, it reveals a much larger 8-inch display, almost the size of a small tablet.

This larger screen is designed for multitasking, watching movies, or working on the go. For users who love both compact phones and bigger displays, this design aims to offer the best of both worlds.

Camera System for Every Angle

The Apple foldable iPhone will come with a total of four cameras.

  • A front camera for when the device is closed
  • Two rear cameras (one main wide sensor and one ultra-wide or telephoto)
  • One inner camera for video calls and selfies when the phone is unfolded

This setup ensures that no matter how the phone is being used, folded or open, users will get the full Apple camera experience.

Touch ID Makes a Comeback

One of the biggest surprises is the return of Touch ID. In recent years, Apple has relied only on Face ID, but the foldable design creates space challenges for its 3D Face ID system. Instead, the apple foldable iPhone will feature a fingerprint sensor built into the side button.

This change might actually excite users who prefer the quick convenience of Touch ID. It also makes sense for a device expected to be thinner than 10mm when closed.

Fast Modem and eSIM Only

Reports say the apple foldable iPhone will come with Apple’s new in-house C2 modem chip, promising faster connectivity. The foldable will also join Apple’s push towards eSIM-only models, meaning it won’t have a physical SIM card slot.

This is in line with the company’s minimalist approach, removing extra parts to keep the design clean and futuristic.

For its first generation, Apple will keep things simple. The Apple foldable iPhone will reportedly launch in just two colours: black and white. This is seen as a safe and elegant choice as Apple enters the foldable market for the first time.

Pricing has not been confirmed, but industry experts say it will likely sit at the very top of Apple’s product lineup. With Android foldables already starting around $1,800, Apple’s foldable could be priced even higher.

Why the Foldable Matters?

The arrival of the Apple foldable iPhone shows Apple’s willingness to take bold steps into new categories. Foldables are still a niche market, but they are growing fast, and Apple’s entering this space could push them into the mainstream.

For many Apple users, this is not just about having a new gadget; it is about experiencing the future of smartphones. Imagine carrying a normal iPhone that instantly transforms into a mini iPad when opened. That’s the vision Apple is trying to deliver.

The Apple foldable iPhone is expected to begin production in early 2026 and launch later that year. While details may still change, excitement is already building worldwide. Apple has a history of reshaping industries from music with the iPod to phones with the iPhone and now it may do the same with foldables.

If successful, the Apple foldable iPhone could mark the beginning of a new chapter for smartphones, giving users flexibility, power, and design all in one sleek device.
