A dreadful event took place at the Dubai Airshow Crash on November 21, 2025, when an Indian Tejas fighter jet went down during its exhibition flight. The catastrophe occurred around 2:10 pm local time at Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai. The incident shocked the spectators of thousands who had come to see the aerial displays and were watching the flight show.

The Tejas fighter jet manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was performing its tricks dance when it suddenly lost height and fell onto the runway beside it. The Dubai Airshow Crash site was the source of thick black smoke which not only obscured the aircraft but also drew the attention of the viewers which included some parents with their children. The emergency workers were very quick and they got to the fire scene first to put out the blaze and also to manage the whole situation.

The Tejas aircraft Dubai Airshow Crash happened during the scheduled airshow of Indian Airforce jet. The officials confirmed that the aircraft crashed while it was demonstrating a manoeuvre that required showing the jet’s capabilities. Sadly, there was no immediate indication that the pilot was able to eject safely before impact.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) issued a statement about the accident and said that the pilot died due to the wounds. The IAF expressed their sorrow and sent condolence to the family of the deceased. The incident is a serious setback to the Indian Air Force, as one of its fighter jet – the Tejas, which is made in India, will no longer be in their possession.

The Dubai Airshow is a huge event and one of the biggest in the world, when it comes to the aviation industry, along with the display of aircraft from various countries. The Tejas fighter plane was one of the many that India showcased as a part of its efforts in the field of defense technology and manufacturing. The crash during such a highly visible event has left many questions regarding the reason for the aircraft’s mid-air failure.

Response and Investigation

After the Dubai Airshow Crash, the firefighting and rescue teams immediately went to the area to extinguish the fire and clear up the site of the accident. The Dubai Airshow was momentarily stopped and people were sent to the less dangerous parts of the exhibition.

The Indian Air Force has initiated a court of inquiry to ascertain the crash of the Tejas aircraft. The purpose of the inquiry is to identify all the related events of the accident that could either be mechanical failure or pilot mistake. Confirmation came from the UAE Ministry of Defence regarding the conducting of a meticulous investigation.

At the Dubai Airshow, witnesses said they saw the Tejas jet take a sharp dive just seconds before crashing. There were also videos showing the aircraft coming down rapidly and then bursting into flames on contact. The unfortunate incident has brought sorrow not only to aviation aficionados but also to defense personnel.

Tejas is the name of India’s first home-built light combat aircraft developed by HAL. It is built for multi-role operations and has been in the Indian Air Force’s inventory since 2016. The aircraft’s modern specs, however, lead to the inevitable caution that accompanies high-performance aviation, this the loss of the Tejas jet illustrates.
