Every evening between the middle of the night, about 11.30 p.m. and 1 a.m., she tries on a preview of what the millions outside will watch. Residents say this preparation builds excitement for the upcoming Burj Khalifa New Year Eve show.
The light testing produces a peculiar sight to the residents who claim that they have a personal midnight show in their apartments. The lights move around the tower, switching colours and patterns as if rehearsing a routine ahead of the Burj Khalifa New Year Eve countdown.

The red and green lines of the Metro will remain operational 43 hours, alternating the traffic between 5 a.m. on 31st in the morning and 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 1. It has a large team of over 5,500 RTA crew, ten control stations and 26 traffic reroutes at its disposal to keep it all running smoothly.
By November, emails were being sent to the residents of the tower to invite people to participate in the event. Burj Park has specific areas, where residents of Burj and the Armani Hotel have access to free of charge. After 10 pm, doors narrow down to ensure safety, and there are personnel in all places to direct individuals and ensure the party is on schedule. Organisers ensure every step is flawless so that Burj Khalifa New Year Eve becomes a seamless world-class event.
International Publicity and Throngs of People
Every year, the Burj Khalifa New Year Eve attracts a tidal wave of fans; nearly a million people attended the New Year’s Eve party in person last year, and the video stream is watched by about three billion people around the world. They put in place over 14,000 taxis, 18,000 luxury rides, and 1,300 buses to transport the multitudes.
