CBSE assessment scheme: With global candidates included, the board affirms outcomes will emerge through internal reviews alongside finalized examinations, shaped by an updated assessment structure
CBSE Released New Assessment Guidelines
A new evaluation approach for Class 10 students in Middle East nations was rolled out by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the CBSE assessment scheme. Because ongoing regional conditions led to the discontinuation of pending examinations, adjustments became necessary. This updated framework replaces traditional testing methods under current circumstances. Each student’s academic standing will now follow modified guidelines set by the board. Following exam cancellations, the system adapts without reverting to prior formats. Instead of fixed timelines, progress measurement uses alternative benchmarks.
Scope of Decision Across Middle East
Students in multiple nations – such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iran – are affected by this ruling. Following a thorough evaluation of current conditions, the revised assessment framework under the CBSE assessment scheme was confirmed, according to CBSE’s announcement dated March 18.

Results Declaration Timeline
Announcement timing for students of Middle East aligns with global release schedules, according to CBSE. Final scores, will derive through established evaluation methods, stand without alteration, with no additional special examinations beyond the defined provisions.
Weightage of Internal Assessments
Marks given internally by institutions form part of the concluding review process. They will be included within the CBSE framework to support balanced outcomes under the CBSE assessment scheme.
Exams Conducted Before Cancellation
It was confirmed by CBSE that tests conducted from February 17 to February 28 concluded without disruption. They are six core academic areas such as Mathematics, English, Science along with 16 language papers and 22 skill-based subjects. Results contribute directly to how students are evaluated under the board’s system.
Assessment Criteria Based on Exam Participation
Students Appeared in All Exams:
Their results will be evaluated based totally on their performance in the completed examinations under the CBSE assessment scheme.
Students Appeared in 4 Exams:
Marks for remaining subjects will be given based on the average of the best three performing subjects.
Students Appeared in 3 Exams:
The average of the best two subjects will be used for subjects not conducted.
Students Appeared in 2 Exams:
Results will be calculated using the average marks of the two subjects for the remaining papers.
Special Cases and Provisions
Results for students appearing in just one or two subjects in previous year will rely solely on exam performance. Where assessments did not take place, a chance to appear for the Second Board Examination will be given, per guidelines set by CBSE’s evaluation framework.

Students with Changed Exam Centres
Students who moved their exam locations overseas, outcomes will be determined by examinations they successfully gave, under established CBSE criteria.
Opportunity for Improvement
An other chance for improvement through Second Board Examination stands available under CBSE guidelines, as affirmed by the board. Opportunities to retake the exam follow predefined conditions already in place. Confirmation will come directly from official sources overseeing academic standards.
Separate Scheme for Class 12
A later announcement will cover the distinct evaluation method for Class 12 pupils, according to the council. Separate guidelines from the central board are expected to follow in due course under the CBSE assessment scheme.
