Dubai, UAE – March 25, 2026: The Ministry of Interior in the United Arab Emirates has issued a new alert, UAE Traffic Fines, to drivers about the dangers of operating loud vehicles that have been modified with unapproved changes. The authorities stated that vehicles that create loud noises to an excessive degree interrupt public order and cause problems to people who live in nearby residential zones. The government has launched this operation to improve road safety while making sure that all vehicles operating in the United Arab Emirates meet both environmental requirements and noise pollution regulations.
Strict Penalties for Noisy Vehicles
According to the UAE traffic fines control regulations in Ministerial Resolution No. 178 of 2017 drivers who operate a vehicle that generates excessive noise must face severe legal penalties according to Article 73 of the resolution.

The Ministry confirmed the following penalties for violators:
- Financial Fine: Dh1,000.
- Vehicle Impoundment: The vehicle will be seized for a period of 30 days.
- Black Points: 12 traffic points will be added to the driver’s file.
Crackdown on Unauthorized Modifications
The Ministry elaborated that any unauthorized modifications that involve changing a vehicle’s engine or chassis system create a serious UAE Traffic Fines violation. Many drivers alter their vehicles by changing both the exhaust systems and engine components which leads them to drive faster while producing louder sounds that create dangers to their vehicle’s structural safety.
The MoI requires operators to obtain official permission before making alterations that affect a vehicle’s chassis or engine system. Vehicle owners who fail to conform to these regulations will face the penalties described above, and their vehicles will not succeed in passing the annual technical inspection.

Compliance and Public Safety
The Ministry of Interior expects all drivers to follow UAE Traffic Fines at all times. Drivers who avoid making changes that affect public safety and residential comfort will create a quieter and safer environment, which benefits all residents.
The public experiences disturbances from loud vehicles which create major disturbances. The Ministry declared that drivers need to follow rules because these UAE Traffic Fines regulations protect road safety and help them avoid legal consequences.
Police patrols across the Emirates must increase their surveillance of noisy vehicles which drivers use to traverse through residential areas during nighttime.
