Dubai does not cancel summer. It moves everything indoors. The courts are empty outside. The arenas fill up inside. And the city’s July and August sports calendar is genuinely packed this year. Whether you want to run, play, compete, or just watch something on a massive screen, there are sports events in Dubai this summer that work for your schedule and your budget. Here is what is on, where to find it, and what it costs.
Run Without Burning Up
The Dubai Mallathon is one of the most accessible sports events in Dubai this summer. According to Dubai Calendar, it transforms shopping malls across the city into indoor walking and running tracks every morning. You can choose from 2.5km, 5km, or also 10km distances at nine participating malls. It runs until September 15. Moreover, entry is completely free. If you normally run outdoors and the heat has stopped you, this is the most direct replacement.
Additionally, the Ibn Battuta Mall Indoor Run Series gives you a more event-style experience. Distances range from 1km to 10km. Tickets start from AED 50. The early morning start also keeps the atmosphere lively. Both options suit complete beginners and regular runners equally.

Sports Events in Dubai For Families With Active Kids
Dubai Sports World returns for its 16th edition at DWTC. It runs from July 6 to August 28, Monday to Friday, from 8am. There is no entry fee. Inside are badminton, basketball courts, cricket nets, football pitches and tennis. Also, all air conditioned.
Winter free classes are offered on various dates throughout the season: group fitness classes such as HIIT, Zumba, and yoga are available. By far the best place in town for managing children during school holidays.
Furthermore, the Tennis 360 Summer Tennis Camp offers structured training for children in a fully indoor environment. It builds fundamental movement skills alongside tennis technique. If your child plays sports at school and you also want to keep that momentum going through summer, this is a smart option.
Sports Events in Dubai For Football Fans
Football has been the main attraction of Dubai’s summer with the FIFA World Cup 2026. Emirates Our Home FIFA Fanzone at Dubai Festival City Mall was open until July 19, featuring a variety of interactive areas, live match screenings, family events, and food and drink. The starting price was AED 100.
Also, during the World Cup, a variety of locations across Dubai are presenting World Cup matches throughout the tournament, featuring themed entertainment and special food packages. For football enthusiasts who haven’t yet found a screening spot, check Dubai Calendar app for the closest screening venue to you.

For Serious Competitors
Karate World Cup TM 2026 Dubai takes place on Saturday July 25 at Dubai International Stadium, starting from 6:30am. This is a real international competition. It covers kata and kumite across multiple age groups. For residents whose children train in martial arts, this is one of the most credible competitive platforms in the UAE summer calendar.
Sports Events in Dubai For People Who Just Want a Reason to Move
In fact, this is the lowest barrier of all on this list of challenges, the 12K Walk to Unlock challenge. Install the Fitze app, link your phone or smartwatch and with the press of 12,000 steps you unlock benefits throughout the dining, fitness and shopping realms. You can start seeing extra rewards from 6,000 steps. It runs at Ibn Battuta Mall until August 1 with no entry fee. It works as a habit as much as an event.
Summer sports events in Dubai do not ask you to be an athlete. It just asks you to show up. The venues are cold, the schedules are flexible, and most of the best options cost very little. The heat outside is staying. So is the activity inside.
