What is Middle East Energy 2026?
Middle East Energy 2026 is an annual exhibition and conference that gathers the energy industry and professionals under one roof. The expo covers the full spectrum of the sector, including power generation, transmission and distribution. It also features energy storage, smart grids, renewables, and efficiency technologies. As a result, it increasingly explores the intersection of artificial intelligence with energy infrastructure.
The 50th edition runs from September 1st to 3rd at Dubai World Trade Centre, is backed by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and with the full support from the government.
This year, 1,528 companies have confirmed their presence on the exhibition floor, including global heavyweights like Shell, Oracle, Toshiba, Ducab, AE Solar and Trina Storage. More than 35,000 energy professionals from approximately 120 countries are expected to attend, with over 30,000 already registered ahead of opening day.
Why Dubai? Why now?
The timing of this milestone edition could not be more relevant. The energy landscape across the Middle East is transforming at a pace that would have seemed impossible even a decade ago.
According to research from Rystad Energy, the region’s installed power capacity is projected to grow fourfold between now and 2050, climbing from 580 gigawatts today to 2,328 gigawatts. Electricity consumption is expected to more than double over the same period. Within the UAE specifically, solar power’s share of the national energy mix is forecast to rise from 11 percent today to 50 percent by mid-century.
These are not distant projections. The investment decisions, partnerships and policy frameworks being shaped right now will determine whether those targets are met. And increasingly, the conversations that matter most are happening in Dubai.

What is happening at the event?
Beyond the exhibition floor, Middle East Energy 2026 features five dedicated conference stages hosting over 250 speakers across three days. The topics mirror the defining challenges of the moment, AI in energy systems, smart grid infrastructure, large-scale storage, renewable investment, energy efficiency and the growing power demands of data centres.
Running alongside the main exhibition in Hall 6 is Intersolar Middle East, a co-located event focused exclusively on solar energy, photovoltaic technologies, manufacturing innovation and clean-tech investment. The Intersolar conference programme brings 40 internationally recognised speakers to address everything from utility-scale solar projects across MENA to the role of blockchain in solar asset management.
The programme also includes the Powered by Her initiative, which puts a spotlight on women shaping the energy industry, and the Dubai Global Leaders session, which brings government and industry figures together to discuss the strategic direction of the sector.
