Dubai CommerCity and HSITP Forge a Powerful UAE-China Tech Bridge

Dubai CommerCity & HSITP Partner for Cross-Border Growth

Dubai CommerCity has established a landmark strategic partnership with Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (HSITPL) to accelerate cross-border expansion for technology startups and digital commerce enterprises.

Announced following the Dubai Business Forum China event in Shenzhen, the agreement creates a direct innovation bridge connecting the UAE, Hong Kong, and mainland China.

Operating as a joint venture between the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Group, Dubai CommerCity continues to solidify its status as the region’s premier free zone dedicated to digital trade.

Bilateral Soft-Landing Infrastructure and Operational Services

Under the new regime of partnerships, Dubai-based technology companies will be able to enter the Chinese market via Loop Hong Kong Park more efficiently.

Meanwhile, technology-based firms based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen will use Dubai CommerCity as the bridgehead to develop rapidly emerging consumer markets in the Middle East and North Africa.

The deal also obliged the partners to offer full support for the expansion of the companies, including business setups, office space provision, incubation services, and entrepreneurship development programs.

Capital Access, Investor Networks, and Collaborative Mentorship

Finding capital in a foreign market can be a difficult task, but with this partnership, it will be much easier for tech founders, as both free zones will arrange joint technology events, conferences, and meetings with potential investors and partners.

Startups will be able to show their business plans to the local venture capitals and corporations, as well as gain the necessary mentorship, training, and guidance from the executives of the local tech industry to be able to make it on the foreign market and follow all legal requirements.

Strategic Alignment with Dubai Economic Agenda D33

Amna Lootah, General Manager of Dubai CommerCity, underlined that the cooperation directly contributes to the vision of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to double the emirate’s economy and make it a model of the world’s financial centers.

She mentioned that connecting Dubai’s digital economy with premier Asian innovative ecosystems allows the creation of an integrative global network that provides companies engaged in digital commerce with unique opportunities for expansion.

Vincent Ma, CEO of HSITPL, reiterated that connecting the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone with Dubai’s business ecosystem offers multiple synergies for research, development, and international commercialization.
