Dubai Fitness Challenge Targets One Billion Steps Across 40+ Communities

Dubai Fitness Challenge Targets One Billion Steps in Communities

Dubai Residential, a flagship brand within Dubai Holding Community Management, have launched their new ‘One Billion Steps’ challenge.

The community-based challenge forms one of the key initiatives of this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge ‘DFC 30×30’. It will encourage residents to be physically active for 30 minutes a day, every day, over the course of 30 days at more than 40 of Dubai’s residential destinations.

The challenge aims to reach one billion steps overall and turn every walk, run and active moment into a community milestone.

Cross-Sector Collaboration Drives Multi-Demographic Engagement

Dubai Holding Community Management have also brought together a range of stakeholders including partners, businesses, and schools.

Walk groups, health and fitness initiatives and school movement challenges have increased the number of steps taken by people in the areas throughout the day.

The community has seen more people involved due to the variety of sectors participating, increasing the impact of the campaign by turning daily commuting into positive health activity.

Expanding Sports Infrastructure and Free Fitness Hubs

Dubai Residential has created a range of fitness zones and has upgraded sporting facilities in its flagship master communities including Dubai Silicon Oasis, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Remraam.

Residents can take advantage of a series of pop-up fitness classes, running clubs, outdoor yoga and family sporting events.

A mobile application and step counting device will help residents track their daily step count so they can reach the one billion steps together.

Smart Apps and Digital Leaderboards Power Real-Time Step Tracking

Participants will use an app on their phone that will sync and record how many steps they have taken into a leaderboard.

Each community will have real-time screens within the local community centres showing how many steps have been recorded from their district.

The interactive tech and daily streaks will help keep people motivated to keep moving every day!

Promoting Wellness and Community Cohesion

Dubai Holding Community Management emphasized how the campaign not only promotes physical wellness but also promotes social cohesion.

With families, fitness lovers and volunteers from the corporate sector joining forces it reflects the city’s vision to become one of the world’s most active and livable cities.

Families, certified trainers and community leaders have been leading daily group sessions to ensure participation is kept at an optimum level throughout the different communities.

Interactive features and daily streak achievement badges encourage participants to stay active throughout the challenge.

Incentives and Rewards for Top Participating Communities
