Is A 5-Day Break Coming For UAE National Day Holiday 2025?
SHARE

July 13, 2025 | Dubai, UAE. With the UAE National Day holiday 2025 falling on December 2 and 3, 2025, the people of the UAE are eagerly awaiting confirmation about the holiday weekend. There will be plenty of festivities in 2025 as the nation is celebrating the 54th year of the unification of the National Day. In addition to this the UAE Cabinet has the power to shift public holidays other than Eid holidays, either to the start or end of the work week by means of an official resolution according to Cabinet Resolution no 27.

Sources from the government are stating that there is a chance that the UAE will have an extended break over the UAE National Day holiday 2025 celebration weekend. If the government decides to make the mid-week holiday weekend that is a five-day weekend, it would mean residents would have a holiday break from work, with the hope of two days off beforehand, Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29. So after the holiday, on Wednesday, December 3, residents would have five days off.

Possible Scenarios Unveiled

There are two possible scenarios here that can give the prediction that the UAE National Day holiday 2025 Celebration can come up with a full-fledged break package for all the residents which will include Birthday of  Prophet’s Mohammad.

1. If the government of the UAE decides to announce Monday, December 1, as an extra public holiday, then residents will be able to enjoy a weekend of five days only. This will give residents plenty of time to relax, reset and partake in the various UAE National Day holiday 2025 celebrations throughout the UAE.

2. The alternative is if the holiday on December 3 is pushed to Monday, December 1, giving a four-day weekend. Although this is not a five-day weekend, it would still give the people of the UAE enough time to relax and enjoy the celebrations during weekend followed by the UAE National Day holiday 2025.

Government Declaration Awaited

Paramount to this in the UAE, the legislation governing public holidays allows discretion by the government to shift the non-Eid ‘holidays’ to either the beginning or end of the weekly breaks, which allows for longer holidays for the population. This provision has been exercised before during the Islamic New Year celebration earlier in the year. People are pleased to see these alterations to the holiday timetable. This will certainly allow them to take advantage of the extra time with our friends and family. Residents want to spend time with family for the UAE National Day Holiday 2025 celebrations, however long it is.

Many areas will be lit up with celebrations, fireworks, parades, cultural elements, raising of the flag, and other displays of Emirati culture and community spirit. All will be celebrated in a manner that exudes the ‘patriotic’ nature of National Day and the pride of living in the UAE, then and now. People are eagerly looking forward to it.

The highlights of the festivities will include traditional Emirati music, dance, and art, which will allow residents and visitors to experience the beauty of Emirati culture. The celebrations will show the unity, progress, and achievements of the UAE as a united country over the past 54 years.

What To Expect?

An extended break would have important implications for residents and businesses. Residents would have a long time to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. For businesses, if they decide to take an extended break, they will have to plan accordingly to minimize disruptions and continue to operate effectively during the extended break.

The precise date of the break has yet to be determined, but residents of the UAE are very optimistic that there will be an extended UAE National Holiday 2025 holiday weekend. To stay informed, residents should follow any official announcements from the UAE government. Whenever there is an announcement regarding the UAE National Day holiday 2025, it should make clearer for residents, so that they can be prepared for the celebrations.

The UAE National Day holiday 2025 has the potential to be pretty special with fantastic celebrations and a longer-than-typical duration. Residents across the country are hopefully waiting for the announcement from the UAE government regarding the holidays schedule and once that is announced we will have a feel for what the level of celebrations will be across the country, considering the region’s cultural heritage, fun, and of course, nationalism, this year could be awesome.
