Dubai- UAE: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has declared a new Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign to rescue five million kids with starvation and malnutrition, and this confirms the long tradition of the UAE to offer humanitarian assistance to the world during the holy month of Ramadan. The project will be implemented within the framework of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in cooperation with top international humanitarian organizations to support the needy.

A Pioneer Of Humanitarian Mission

In an impressive humanitarian program, Sheikh Mohammed introduced a Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign dubbed as “Had Al Hayah” translating to “The Edge of Life” and the main goal was to rescue five million children under the age of five in the world from the dangers of malnutrition and starvation.

The goal that the campaign seeks to achieve is the mobilization of at least Dh1 billion in donations both locally and internationally in support of immediate nutritional campaigns and life-saving interventions.

The Purpose And Urgency

Statistics brought out by Sheikh Mohammed indicate that hundreds of millions of children face malnutrition in the world annually, with millions of these dying every year due to hunger related diseases. It was against this backdrop that the Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign to help save five million children was initiated to offer preventative care, nutrition, and help needed by the children in terms of medical assistance.

In his announcement, Sheikh Mohammed ahead of Ramadan, said that this campaign will seek to offer urgent nutritional assistance and life-saving aid to five million of the most vulnerable children.

Collaboration With International Organisations

The initiative of Sheikh Mohammed to save five million children through the Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign is done under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives to guarantee the success of the campaign.

Key global partners include:

  • The Children Investment fund Foundation.
  • Save the Children.
  • UNICEF.
  • Action Against Hunger.

These partnerships will focus on maximisation of distribution of resources, access to the most vulnerable communities and make sure that the support really makes a difference to the children in need around the globe.

Sheikh Mohammed reiterated in his mass communication that generosity and kind deeds is a value not only in the UAE but also in global accountability. He stressed that it is neither in our character, nor essential in our values to observe such humanitarian tragedy and stay passive.

Sheikh Mohammed restated that Dubai is a humanitarian leadership centre and international charity by introducing the Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign to save five million children.

Sustaining A History Of Ramadan Support

Each year, Sheikh Mohammed has led many Ramadan initiatives that call into question the rich culture of charity and helping of the vulnerable groups in the UAE as well as other parts of the world that have been mechanical in terms of feeding, health, and education funding. It demonstrates the continuum of compassionate leadership that contains the ambitious Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign to rescue five million kids.

The Solidarity Of Saving Lives

The Dh1 billion Ramadan campaign to save five million children is one of the most significant humanitarian commitments ever in the recent past – an audacious manifesto to show that compassion can be harnessed in large numbers, and that the power of collective action during such sacred events like Ramadan has promise of millions of lives. The campaign, which will be declared in advance of Ramadan, aims at offering emergency nutritional aid and life-saving healthcare services to the needy children that are below five years of age.
