June 20, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has announced the enable of digital identity services to UAE residents. Now they have access to their own digital Emirates ID through official government platforms. The motive of the digital identity service is to ensure the convenience, safety, and efficiency of the UAE residents and civilians. Also strengthens the nation’s digital transformation agenda.

The ICP has made the easiest easy to download and use an online version of the digital Emirates ID through the UAEICP and the UAE Pass, and the National Digital Identity platform. It allows every individual to store, present, and verify their own digital Emirates ID safely from their smartphones. It helps to reduce the dependency on physical cards and offers seamless access to the government and private administrative services.

Hassle-Free Access Via UAEICP App And UAE Pass

Citizens can now retrieve their digital Emirates ID simply by downloading simply from the UAEICP app. This service is available on both iOS and Android devices. To get a digital Emirates ID, users are advised to complete the process on the official platforms. First, they need to log in with UAE Pass credentials to provide the information. Another way by the UAE Pass platform, which creates a QR code, and the officials and service sectors can scan that QR code. It makes swift verification, developing convenience for users while airport checks, banking procedures, and public service registrations. Moreover, in the app, the UAE Pass platform issues a direct linkage with digital Emirates ID data. By logging in to the government platforms and private sector services using UAE Pass, users can share their authentic personal information without the physical card. It supports enhanced service processing times and reduces paperwork.

Nationwide Drive For Digital Governance

The strategic effort of the digital Emirates ID represents the UAE’s broader vision that builds the smart government ecosystem. The UAE deploys this kind of technology to develop users’ better user experience. Officials declared that the digital Emirates ID holds the legal validity as the physical card. It is accepted all over the government and private administrations.
