Al Ruwayyah is back for winter with 600 camps, caravan plots and ready-to-use rental camps for the first time ever. This Dubai camping Al Ruwayyah 2026 offers convenient options for visitors seeking a comfortable outdoor experience.
If your idea of the perfect winter evening involves a fire, open desert skies and the kind of silence that Dubai’s urban core simply cannot offer, this is your season.
Dubai Municipality has opened registrations for the 2026 to 2027 winter camping season at Al Ruwayyah, running from November 1 through April 30, 2027. This edition is a considerable step forward compared to previous seasons.
Bigger, Better and Brand New
The capacity at Al Ruwayyah has jumped by roughly 120 percent this year. There are 600 camping plots now available across the site. That expansion covers both standard 400-square-metre plots and the returning double-sized option of up to 800 square metres for families who want more breathing room between themselves and their neighbours.
The most interesting additions this season are the 50 dedicated caravan plots and 10 fully equipped camps available for daily rental. That second category is genuinely new: you show up, the camp is already set up, equipped and ready. No planning, no equipment hauling, no setup. Just the desert.
For families who have always wanted to try Al Ruwayyah but found the preparation process a barrier, the daily rental option removes that barrier entirely.
October and November mark the point in the Dubai calendar when the desert stops being something to endure. It becomes somewhere people genuinely want to be. Temperatures drop into the comfortable range. Evenings carry a stillness urban life rarely offers. The appeal of sitting outside under an open sky becomes easy to understand.
Al Ruwayyah has been the organized expression of that impulse for several seasons now. The infrastructure around it grows a little more considered each year. Dubai camping Al Ruwayyah 2026 offers more options. This edition includes caravan options, daily rentals and dedicated event spaces. It feels like the version of the destination that was always being built toward.

More Than Just Pitching a Tent
Ten spaces have been set aside specifically for winter events, community gatherings, seasonal markets and family recreational programmes. Local small and medium-sized enterprises will also have dedicated opportunities to bring food and beverage services, desert activities and recreational experiences into the destination.
That commercial layer matters. Al Ruwayyah with local entrepreneurs running desert activities and food concepts alongside the camping areas becomes a more complete destination rather than simply a patch of desert with regulated plots.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, was direct about the longer-term thinking. “We are establishing a foundation for the continued development of Al Ruwayyah, with a focus on providing more diverse experiences, strengthening community connections and ensuring that our public destinations continue to contribute to quality of life and wellbeing.”
How to Register
The season is open to UAE nationals. Registration runs through wintercamp.dm.gov.ae and the DubaiNow app. Seasonal reservations cover periods from three to six months. Caravan plots and daily rental camps have separate booking processes.
Campers bringing their own setup can design and equip their plots according to personal preferences, once permits are issued and plot boundaries are marked. Temporary fencing is required and camps are designated for family use only.
November 1st is the opening date. If you are thinking about it, start the process now.
