Strategic Overview of Dubai Police Mock Drill

Dubai Police will conduct a full-scale tactical exercise at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai Sports City on Thursday November 5, 2026.

Working alongside emergency services and city partners, the exercise will help test how effectively they can respond to an incident, work collaboratively and deploy on the ground quickly to large public sports facilities.

A statement from the authority said the Dubai Police exercise was a regular part of security preparedness checks to ensure they met the highest levels of safety standards for the largest entertainment and sporting facilities in the emirate.

Traffic Management and Access Advisory for Residents

Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will temporarily close roads and put in place diversion routes at Dubai Sports City.

There will be controlled diversions on the smaller roads surrounding the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Residents and commuters can expect increased activity from Dubai Police patrol cars, ambulances and civil defence vehicles around the surrounding areas.

Drivers are requested to follow the diversion signs, obey directions given by Dubai Police officers on the ground and refrain from stopping near to the road closure.

Those involved in transport and safety have assured the public that main roads, such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E 311) will operate normally during the drill.

Multi-Agency Coordination and Tactical Objectives

The simulation exercise is an opportunity to test the real time communication systems and procedures between Dubai Police units and key emergency response agencies.

1. Communication between different agencies: This exercise will test real-time information sharing between Dubai Police control rooms, Dubai Civil Defence and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

2. Crowd Control Procedures: Teams will conduct rapid evacuation, crowd control and crowd management procedures within a large stadium (multi thousand capacity)

3. Testing Advanced Technology: Dubai Police specialist units will utilise smart observation technology, automated observation and mobile control units to maintain control.

The simulations ensure field commanders are able to quickly mitigate any potential risks in large scale public events.

Maintaining Dubai’s High Public Safety Standards

Dubai Police are constantly training to strengthen the emirate’s reputation as one of the safest places in the world for tourists, businesses, and major events.

Regular exercises are carried out in key areas such as the Dubai International Cricket Stadium to ensure quick response times and efficient cooperation between all emergency services.

Security officials have asked members of the public to stay calm when they see emergency vehicles, not record any footage within areas that are off-limits and only use official Dubai Police sources for live traffic information.
