RTA’s submission in the trial spotlighted various strategic measures and far-sighted programs that focus on improving occupational safety while also building a healthy work culture. RTA sets an example of top-tier industry practices in this critical sector.

The International Safety Award 2025 strongly underscores RTA’s keen dedication to strict standards when it comes to workplace health, safety, and employee welfare. 1. Health, safety, and security
  2. Improving transportation safety
  3. protecting their assets and mobility systems

Judgment by The British Safety Council

The International Safety Award 2025, an honour granted by the British Safety Council, is a globally recognised accolade that celebrates dedication to maintaining exceptional standards in health, safety, and employee well-being at a particular facility or operational branch. In this cycle, the International Safety Award 2025 saw strong representation from 874 companies. The applications came from diverse industries such as major construction, energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, mining, and utilities among others

Celebrating its 67th anniversary, the International Safety Award 2025 gives laurels to organisations globally that have made significant advances in reducing workplace accidents and preventing occupational health issues over the last year. It also applauds the institutions that have made employees’ mental health and overall well-being a priority in their workplace culture.

RTA’s Focus On Mental Health Too

  • The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) along with safety, also places significant emphasis on the mental well-being of its employees, particularly the bus drivers, as part of a broader initiative to enhance overall quality of work and life.
  • RTA, in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP),  has been conducting awareness lectures that aim at educating drivers about mental health disorders and encourage it’s early detection.
  • RTA includes the initiatives falling under the umbrella of the Dubai Health Authority’s “Mental Wealth Strategy,l.” It promotes all-around well-being of individuals across different sectors of society, including job, psychological support and stigma reduction.
  • RTA identifies and values the high-stress nature of a bus driver’s role. Hence the Authority offers targeted mental health support to them, reinforcing the importance of public safety and employee welfare.
  • RTA aligns itself with global standards for holistic health set by the WHO and APA and such institutions, ensuring that their mental health strategies meet international benchmarks.
  • These efforts reflect Dubai RTA’s commitment to creating a progressive, supportive, and mentally healthy environment in line with its Social Agenda 33.
