Authorities Requested Public to Avoid Rumours

Authorities requested residents to avoid circulating unverified and false information related to the incident. Authorities reflected that right updates regarding the drone interception debris incident should only be acquired from official government sources. This measure mainly aims to prevent confusion and maintain public safety during emergency situations.

Similar Incident Reported Earlier in Fujairah

The latest fire comes just days after another blaze occurred in Fujairah’s Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ). On March 9, falling drone interception debris from intercepted drones also caused a fire in the same area. Response teams responded immediately and managed to control the situation without further damage.

Second Incident Reported in FOIZ This Month

Authorities noted that this was the second similar event reported in FOIZ recently. On March 3, in the morning, another fire broke out when debris fell after a drone was intercepted by air defence systems. In that case as well, drone interception debris was recognized as the cause of the blaze.

Loud Sounds Reported Across the City

Answering to public concern regarding loud sounds heard across various parts of Fujairah, the Media Office assured that the noises were related to air defence operations that intercepted drones. Officials reassured residents that authorities responded quickly and contained the fire while managing and controlling the effects of drone interception debris.
