GCC Conflict: Iran Denies High-Level Assassinations Following US-Israeli Strikes

GCC Conflict: Iranian state media and government officials have officially denied reports that the country’s senior leadership or military heads were killed during the recent wave of US and Israeli airstrikes. President Masoud Pezeshkian is confirmed to be safe and in good health, a sentiment echoed by his son, Youssef Pezeshkian, who noted on Telegram that the latest assassination attempts had failed.

Despite earlier rumors of his death, Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami is also reported to be unharmed and at full operational readiness. Additionally, hardline news agencies have verified the safety of other top figures, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and SNSC head Ali Larijani, maintaining that the core political and military command remains intact.

UAE Authorities Target Online Misinformation in New Warning

The UAE Cyber Security Council has issued an urgent advisory for all residents to rely exclusively on official, verified sources for information and to strictly avoid circulating unconfirmed content or rumors online. This warning comes as authorities confirm that national defense systems remain fully operational 24/7 to safeguard the country’s digital infrastructure against evolving threats. Officials emphasized that maintaining a secure digital environment is a collective responsibility, making it the duty of every individual to verify information before sharing it to prevent the spread of misinformation and protect the nation’s security.

UN Head Calls for Instant End to Conflict

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has issued a stern condemnation of the military escalation in the Middle East following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran and subsequent retaliatory attacks. In an official statement on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the UN chief warned that this cycle of violence directly undermines international peace and security. Emphasizing that there is no viable alternative to a peaceful settlement, Guterres called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urged all parties to return to the negotiating table to prevent a wider regional conflict with devastating consequences for civilians.

UAE Intercepts New Wave of Iranian Missiles and Drones: Military Remains on High Alert

The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed late Saturday that its advanced air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized a third wave of Iranian missiles and drones targeting the country. This latest escalation follows a series of joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran earlier in the day, which triggered retaliatory attacks against various regional targets.

While the Ministry praised the high efficiency of the interception operations, it was reported that debris from the downed projectiles fell in multiple residential and commercial areas across both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Specifically, fragments were noted in neighborhoods such as Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, and Al Falah in the capital, while an explosion and subsequent fire were reported in a building on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, resulting in four injuries.

Despite these localized incidents and one earlier confirmed fatality, a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi, the Ministry emphasized that the nation’s security remains firm and under full control. The statement characterized the attacks as a “blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law,” affirming the UAE’s legitimate right to take all necessary defensive measures to safeguard its territory and residents.

In response to the ongoing threat, the General Civil Aviation Authority has maintained a partial and temporary closure of UAE airspace, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport. Authorities continue to urge the public to remain calm, avoid the circulation of unverified social media footage, and rely exclusively on official government sources for safety updates as the regional situation remains highly volatile.

Residents are urged to remain calm, rely strictly on official government information, and refrain from sharing unverified videos or images of the incident on social media as the situation continues to be monitored.

Death Toll in Iranian Girls’ School Strike Rises to 85 Following Joint Military Action

According to the judiciary’s Mizan Online website, the local prosecutor’s office has classified the victims as martyrs as rescue operations continue in the area. IDF Launches Massive Second Wave of Strikes Across Central Iran

The Israeli military confirmed late Saturday that the IDF has initiated an additional wave of targeted strikes against the Iranian regime’s strategic assets in central Iran. This second phase of the operation specifically focuses on neutralizing missile launchers and advanced aerial defense systems to further degrade Iran’s ability to launch retaliatory strikes.

According to an official military statement, these coordinated actions are part of a broader mission to dismantle the infrastructure used to threaten regional security, following the earlier escalation of hostilities between the two nations.

Israel Conducts Largest Air Raid in History with 200 Jets Striking Iran

The Israeli military confirmed that approximately 200 fighter jets completed a massive, unprecedented aerial offensive against Iranian military targets on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Described as the largest operation in the history of the Israeli Air Force, the mission utilized hundreds of munitions to strike roughly 500 strategic objectives across western and central Iran.

The extensive raids specifically targeted the Iranian regime’s sophisticated missile arrays and critical air defense systems. Military officials stated that the coordinated waves of attacks successfully neutralized key defensive infrastructures and launchers, marking a significant escalation in the regional conflict following joint operations with U.S. forces.

India’s External Affairs Minister Calls for Immediate Regional De-escalation

Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held urgent diplomatic consultations on Saturday with both Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi as regional tensions reached a critical breaking point. During his conversation with Minister Sa’ar, Jaishankar reiterated India’s consistent stance on the necessity of dialogue and diplomacy to halt the spiraling violence.

In a subsequent teleconference with Minister Araghchi, he expressed India’s profound concern regarding the recent military developments within Iran and the broader Middle East. By engaging both counterparts, the Indian government continues to advocate for a return to stability and a cessation of hostilities to prevent further catastrophic impacts on international security and the millions of expatriates living in the region.

In response to the escalating military situation in the Middle East, Bishop Paolo Martinelli, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia, has officially directed all Catholic churches in the UAE and neighboring Gulf countries to incorporate special intentions for peace and security into their daily Masses.

Emphasizing the power of spiritual solidarity, he invited the community to pray the rosary daily for reconciliation, underscoring that now is a vital time for all residents to remain united in their commitment to peace for all people across the region.

Iran Reports Upwards of 200 Killed and 750 Wounded in Strikes

The Iranian Red Crescent Society has confirmed a staggering toll following joint military operations by the United States and Israel on Saturday, February 28, 2026. According to official state media reports, at least 201 people have been killed and 747 others injured in a series of coordinated strikes that impacted 24 of Iran’s 31 provinces. The attacks, codenamed “Operation Epic Fury” by the U.S. and “Operation Roaring Lion” by Israel, reportedly targeted over 500 military objectives, including ballistic missile launch sites and air defense batteries.

One of the most devastating incidents occurred in the southern province of Hormozgan, where a strike on a girls’ elementary school in Minab resulted in the deaths of dozens of students. Iranian authorities have characterized the offensive as an illegal and unprovoked act of aggression, while the U.S. administration maintains the strikes were a preemptive measure to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure.

Authorities added that tourism establishments are functioning within approved regulatory frameworks and are closely monitoring developments. Operational conditions and occupancy levels are being reviewed daily to ensure services run smoothly and any issues are addressed promptly.

Iran says sorry for attacks, says won’t attack neighbours anymore unless attacked first

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday confirmed while the country will never agree to an unconditional surrender, attacks on its neighbouring countries will be stopped unless an attack originates from them. Pezeshkian is the part of the new governing council following the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

During the speech, Pezeshkian apologised to neighbouring countries for attacks across the region, saying that Iran would not be targeted unless attacks originated from them.

“I must apologise on my own behalf and on behalf of Iran to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran,” he said. The UAE bore a massive brunt of the attack from Iran following the US and Israel’s offensive on Iran since last Saturday, February 28 2026. The country has since responded with unflinching resolve to protect itself containing damage to life and property a minimum while affirming its right to protect itself.

Attacks on UAE continue unabated

On day 8 of the US-Israel war on Iran, the United Arab Emirates continued to face brutal drone and missile attacks across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, including the Dubai airport. Late in the evening of Saturday, March 7th, Dubai witnessed twin incidents – one at a high-rise in Marina where fire was contained after a Pakistani national lost his life due to a sharpnel injury on the Umm Suqeim road.

Earlier in the day, Emirates briefly suspended its flights before resuming operations following the attack on Dubai Airport’s terminal 3 by an Iranian missile. The latest incidents have undermined Iran’s apology to its neighbours and the promise to not launch fresh attacks on them. This even as President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warned that the country’s beauty should not be mistaken for weakness, assuring that the UAE is “not an easy target”.

Netanyahu tells Iranians freedom is near

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the US-Israeli bombing campaign in Iran would continue unabated and that a “moment of truth” was approaching for Iranians to rise up against their government. Israel has also wowed to ‘pursue every successor’ of Khamenei amid Iran, Lebanon strikes.

His remarks came as the IDF announced it had struck what it described as Iran’s two “most central” ballistic missile sites and, in what appeared to be a first, targeted oil infrastructure in Tehran.

Later Saturday night, US President Donald Trump told reporters the war “will continue for a while longer,” though he declined to provide a timeline. He also pointed to the October 7, 2023, attack led by Iran’s terrorist ally Hamas as evidence of what he called the regime’s “evil.”

Trump’s statement on the ending Iran war

In an exclusive interview to Times of Israel, US President Donald Trump has said that Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and he will mutually decide when to end the Iran war at the ‘right time’. In a telephonic interview to the portal, Trump emphasised that Iran would have ‘destroyed Israel and everything around it’ adding that they have worked together to destroy a country that would’ve destroyed Israel. He even add that he will have the final say in the matter.

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday that Washington expects it to last four to six weeks.

Essential commodities price temporary and limited

The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism said on Tuesday that the recent rise in prices of nine key commodities — including cooking oil, eggs, dairy products, rice, sugar, poultry, legumes, bread and wheat — is temporary and limited. The ministry reassured the public that the increase is not something residents will have to live with for long, emphasising that supply chains across the country remain stable. Officials added that such price fluctuations are a natural short-term consequence of disruptions caused by a conflict of this scale.

Residents across the UAE have recently reported higher prices of several essential items, particularly vegetables such as tomatoes and onions, following the US-Israel conflict with Iran and the subsequent drone and missile attacks on the UAE. Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Defence has reiterated that the country remains fully prepared to counter any threat, affirming its commitment to safeguarding residents and protecting the nation’s sovereignty.

Four injured at Dubai airport, flight ops resume after brief pause

In a fresh interception of drones fired by Iran toward the Dubai International Airport, the authorities have confirmed injuries to four people on Wednesday morning. Among the injured, 2 are said to be nationals of Ghana, while one Bangladeshi and an Indian national — all of whom received prompt medical attention, as per reports. Air traffic has resumed operations after a brief pause. However, travellers are urged to check their flight status in real time with their respective airlines on their official platforms such as the website or X handle, before leaving for the airport.

Since the start of the Iranian attacks on the UAE on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the country has relentlessly thwarted every attempt to cause widespread death and destruction, especially in Dubai with the authorities assuring the public of the highest level of preparedness to combat any such rogue attacks. Over the last 12 days, the UAE has successfully managed to intercept and neutralise 92% of the 270 missile attacks on its soil. The number of casualties as of now is reported to be six while 126 people have been injured in these attacks.

Iran’s new supreme leader’s shocking statement

Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who is yet to make a public appearance has vowed to avenge the deaths of Iranians, who have been killed in their war with US and Israel so far. A statement by him released by the state television of Iran read, “A limited amount of this revenge has so far taken concrete form, but until it is fully achieved, this case will remain among our priorities.”

“We will seek compensation from the enemy, and if they refuse, we will take as much of their property as we determine, and if that is not possible, we will destroy the same amount of his property,” he added. As per Iran’s health ministry on March 8 over 1,200 people had been killed, and more than 10,000 civilians injured.

Dubai building hit by debris falling from a successful interception in air

Dubai authorities have confirmed the successful interception of yet another missile launched from the Iranian side. However, falling debris from the intercepted projectile struck a building in the city centre, though no casualties or injuries were reported.

On Thursday, March 12, authorities also confirmed similar incidents across the city that were swiftly contained, including debris impacts reported near a building along Sheikh Zayed Road and in the Dubai Creek Harbour area.

The UAE has been among the hardest hit since the start of the ongoing unprovoked attacks from Iran following the US-Israel conflict that began on February 28, 2026. Since the start of the hostilities, the country has faced a barrage of 278 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and approximately 1,540 drones targeting various locations across the nation.

UAE Presidential Adviser Slams Iran’s Kharg Claims

“The Iranian strategy, which reflects its inability to confront U.S. and Israeli strikes by targeting Arab Gulf states, reveals a military impotence, a moral bankruptcy, and a political isolation.”
