Through a partnership between Smart Mobility International ( SMI), a local New Energy Vehicle seller in the UAE, and IM Motors—the technology enterprise backed by the largest original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in China–SAIC Motor, Alibaba as well as Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Center, they have delivered high end electric vehicles of their IM LS7 SUV breed to regions such as this year for immediate introduction to important markets Australia and Taiwan.
As the representative of the IM brand and Mr. Moutaz Louis, CEO of Smart Mobility International, made the signing official at IM Motors’ inaugural UAE showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. The agreement marks IM Motors’ entry into the GCC market. It starts with the UAE. We will accelerate the expansion to Saudi Arabia later this year.
The ceremony was held in the newly constructed UAE showroom of IM Motors on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. Present at the occasion were Mr. Liu Tao, Co-CEO of the IM brand and Mr. Moutaz Louis, CEO of Smart Mobility International. During the ceremony, IM LS7, the world’s first fully electric luxury SUV and a segment disruptor in premium EVs, was introduced to attendees.
The LS7 features a smart panoramic cockpit that integrates AI. It also has a range of advanced safety and connectivity functions. The cabin is spacious with high-end details. A major highlight is its rear right seat, which is designed using aerospace engineering’s zero-gravity technology. Adding pressure evenly over the seat, its ergonomic design creates a light, floating feel for smoother riding comfort.
In his opening speech, Mr Moutaz Louis expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. “Smart Mobility International is proud to lead the new energy vehicle revolution in this region,” he said. “As the exclusive distributor of IM Motors in UAE and Saudi Arabia, we offer more than just a new brand. We are creating a future for intelligent mobility, premium performance, and sustainability.”
The IM LS7 will first be launched in its Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) version, with a range-extended model to follow. Later this year, SMI will introduce other models like the IM L7 sedan and IM LS6 SUV. Both will be available in BEV and Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) variants. This will expand the portfolio of high-quality electric vehicles available to consumers in this region.
The UAE has set national EV objectives to have 50% of all vehicles on the road being electric by 2050. SMI and IM Motors are supporting these goals. They are contributing to the region’s move toward sustainable and intelligent mobility. They are bringing in their innovative electric vehicles. Additionally, they are laying the groundwork for expansion into Saudi Arabia.
