September 13, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: The United Nations Security Council has condemned in a rare joint and clear statement the Israel Attacks on Qatar, asking for the easing of tensions and reaffirming their support for the Gulf state’s sovereignty. The decision followed a speech in New York at the UN Security Council headquarters in New York, after Israel fired missiles at Doha on Tuesday, killing five Hamas fighters and a Qatari security officer. The unique event conveyed that the war could expand beyond the already tense neighboring areas and the international community’s active criticism of Israel.

Global Outcry as Israel Faces Rebuke

Diplomats from the Security Council, among others, emphasized that the Israel Attacks on Qatar represented a significant danger of escalating the already volatile conflict. The operation, led by the Israelis to kill the leaders of Hamas gathered in the Qatari capital, ended up with more than 200,000 people evacuated in Gaza City as the Israeli offensive was extended. Speaking from Israel’s side, the Council asserted that in the issue of “terrorists” it had been “highly irresponsible” to resort to violence in the country that hosted the peace talks, pointing out that such a move would destabilize the region and way beyond.

Even the United States, Israel’s closest ally, came on board with the other voices in the Security Council. The US Acting Ambassador to the UN, Dorothy Shea, declared that “a one-sided air strike within the confines of a sovereign state in the process of a courageous peace broker activity is surely the furthest thing from the aims of Israel and the US.”

While Washington resisted more cutting language, its choice to back the statement signaled a remarkable shift from its habitual stance at the UN in favor of Israel. Analysts remarked that the strike was a “bridge too far” situation for the US with President Donald Trump reportedly exposing his anger the moment he realized the attack went ahead without notifying him beforehand.

While addressing the Security Council, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, to explain the situation, named Israel’s arrogance and complete disregard for regional peace and stability on Israel attacks on Qatar. He also gave the commitments that Doha would not only supply the necessary aid but also broker the talks, in addition to issuing a warning that a decisive country’s response would be triggered by any further violations of its sovereignty.

Regional Stability at Risk on Israel Attacks on Qatar

According to UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo, the Israel Attacks on Qatar may result in the “opening of a new and dangerous chapter” of the conflict. Not only did she highlight the necessity of Qatar for the peace process, but she also pointed out that the reckless military actions resulted in the suspension of the negotiations and, in consequence, of security in the wider region.

The assaults were also condemned in no uncertain terms by Algeria’s UN envoy who went as far as to say that Israeli’s hostility was “insanity” and only confirmed the trend of the extremist government taking advantage of its doing so with absolute impunity.

On the other hand, the Israel Attacks on Qatar can be seen as a symptom of the very delicate nature of the diplomatic Middle East balance. According to the UN statement, the most pressing issues at hand are the need for measures aimed at de-escalation of the conflict, the release of hostages as well as the cessation of suffering in Gaza. But, given that regional peace is at risk, the Israel Attacks on Qatar might be the moment that makes the international community adopt tougher measures on the issues of accountability and conflict settlement.
