In the UAE’s only emirate sitting on the east coast, there is a long list of things to do in Fujairah. Fujairah became one of the founding emirates when it joined the UAE in 1971, under the leadership of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.  Before this, Fujairah was the stubborn, independent gem of the east coast with a long rich past and stories.

Fujairah’s history traces all the way back to the Bronze Age, with archaeological evidence of people living, farming, and trading here for over 4,000 years. When Islam set foot in Fujairah in the 7th century, it reshaped the land. Central to this religious past is the long-standing Al Badiyah Mosque, the oldest mosque in the UAE. Fujairah became an officially recognised emirate in 1952, after centuries of protecting itself against powerful dominations of emirates like Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah

Nature

Nestled on the eastern coast of the UAE, Fujairah is the heavenly curation of rugged mountain peaks of the Hajar Range, lapping blue waves on white sands of Snoopy, wild greenery and the golden soft sand of the desert in Al Bidya. Fujairah is the wild child of the Emirates, offering you a raw, green, and glorious trip in the lap of nature, away from the city bustles and chaos.

Snoopy Islands

  • Price for two: 320 AED for basic access, might get higher 
  • Timings: accessible 24 hours

Snoopy Island in Fujairah is one of the best places to visit if you are looking for crystal blue waters and exciting marine-related things to do in Fujairah. You can explore the underwater world with snorkelling and try kayaking on the clear waters, or even paddleboating. The public beach is accessible for 24 hours, but the activities open from 9am to 6pm. The price for two is usually 320 AED but might go up to AED 830 depending on activities.

Hajar Mountains

  • Price for two:  200-300 AED for overnight trek/camp
  • Timings: All day long

No matter if you are an avid hiker or just enjoying something out of your comfort zone, Hajar Mountain can give you plenty of trekking and camping things to do in Fujairah. The mountain offers 9 routes of different difficulty catering to every hiker’s needs. Basic gear rentals and guides can cost anywhere around 200 AED while a camping permit will cost 100 AED.

Wadi Wurayah

  • Price for two: AED 300-400, including permit and a guide
  • Timings: Sunday – Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm require a permit

Wadi Wuyarah National Park is a sanctuary for biodiversity and a scenic landscape. The national park is a sanctuary to over 100 species of fauna and over 300 species of flora. You can enjoy a light trek, waterfalls and engage in wildlife spotting of even rare animal species. Although the booking must be done before the ecology authority. The entry fee is minimal, from 50-100 AED, but travelling with a guide may increase the overall cost to 300-400 AED.

Al Madhab Hot Spring Park

  • Price for two: AED 70 including entry and optional snacks
  • Timings: Daily 10 am – 9pm

These sulphuric hot springs at the foot of the Hajar mountains are said to hold healing and relaxing properties. You can unwind in the soothing waters surrounded by a beautiful view of the tranquil Al Madhab parks. The park also allows for picnics and casual outings. The entry fee for the gardens is free while the hot springs have a minimal cost of 20-40 AED per person.

Culture

Fujairah has centuries of history, tradition and culture left open for the tourists to immerse themselves in. While the other Emirates, like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, flaunt the futuristic skyscrapers, Fujairah cradles its beautiful stories of the past. Here, every fort holds a story, offering a variety of things to do in Fujairah, for the tourists who love soaking in history and culture. From the ancient watchtowers of the Fujairah fort to the marvellous collection of the Fujairah museum, the cultural list of things to do in Fujairah will offer a lifetime of experiences. 

Al-Bidyah Mosque 

  • Entry: Free
  • Timings: Open daily, 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM (except prayer hours)

Al Bidyah Mosque is the oldest known mosque in the UAE, standing since the 15th century. Visiting and praying in the beautiful mosque of Al Bidyah is one of the best things to do in Fujairah. This humble ancient mud-and-stone structure with its intricately designed minaret radiates history, resilience and memory of centuries. The tourists should keep in mind to dress modestly when visiting.

Fujairah Fort

  • Entry: Free
  • Timings: 9AM – 5PM, Saturday to Thursday, closed on Fridays

The Fujairah fort built in 1670, is one of the oldest and largest forts in the UAE. Built only with local materials, like mud, stone and wood, the fort has survived multiple invasions as well as the British bombardment in the 20th century. The fort is deeply integral to the history of the ruling Al Sharqi family and offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the city.

Fujairah Heritage Village

  • Entry Fee: Around AED 5–10
  • Timings: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM

The Fujairah village would feel like stepping into a time capsule of the region’s historic days. The village displays traditional arish huts, mud brick and palm leaf structures, rural grocery shops, utensils and even handicrafts made by the local women. It also has a display of the traditional Al Yazrah irrigation system where bulls turned the wheels for irrigation. The village is situated close to the Fujairah fort and museum, making the trio a perfect curation for all cultural things to do in Fujairah.

Fujairah Museum 

  • Price for two: Approximately 20 AED including kids and adults.
  • Timings:  Sunday to Thursday from 8:30 AM–1:30 PM, and 4:30 PM–6:30 PM

Situated at a small distance from both the Fujairah fort and the Heritage Village, the Fujairah Museum completes the wonderful cultural experience of the emirate. It is a walkthrough of Fujairah’s past from the Bronze Age till the modern Emirati life.

The museum is divided into five halls, each filled with artefacts that showcase both daily life and the deep history of Fujairah. The first Hall displays how villagers lived and worked generations ago  while the second Hall shows the early Weapons, Costumes, utensils and replica of a palm leaf house.Third hall is a recreated market place of spices, ceramics and tools with an actual old school spice shop. The last two halls feature archeological artefacts like arrowheads, carnelian beads, clay vessels and even an ostrich eggshells from centuries ago.

Entertainment 

If Fujairah is the soulful side of the Emirates, then its adventure offerings are the high-energy counterpart. From urban adventure zones and beachside resort thrills to cultural surprises like musical roads, this emirate knows how to play. Here’s where to chase joy in Fujairah.

Fujairah Adventure Park

  • Timings: Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 A.M. – 09:00 P.M. Friday to Saturday: 08:00 A.M. – 08:00 P.M.
  • Cost for Two: Approx. 166 AED for entry, can go higher for full day pack.

Fujairah’s Adventure Park is the largest in Uae with an area of over 20 hectares. It offers loads of fun things to do in Fujairah like ziplining, rock climbing, obstacle courses, archery and much more. It is a perfect place to enjoy with kids at an affordable price, and even extends till midnight on the weekends.

Aqua Bounce, Dibba

  • Timings: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Thursday to Tuesday  
  • Cost for Two: Usually 300-400 AED 

The iconic floating water park in Dibba offers fun, exciting floating water obstacle courses where you can race across trampolines, slides, and bridges while splashing with your friends and family.

Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC)

  • Timings: 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Sunday through Thursday, and from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday
  • Price For Two: Depends on activities

FIMC is the centre of all aquatic fun things to do in Fujairah. It features jetskis, speedboats, fishing trips , diving and much more to do. You can even get yacht or book diving packages for an incredible experience.

When you need fuel to complete your checklist of different things to do in Fujairah, turn up to these amazing restaurants that will embrace your taste buds. Ranging from local Arabian flavors to international cuisines, these are the cafes the locals swear by.

Al Meshwar Restaurant

  • Location: Fujairah City Centre, Fujairah
  • Timings: 9am-1am everyday
  • Price for two: 85 AED

Al Meshwar is popular for its beautiful interior and ample seating space, but also for its fragrant slow-cooked Mandi, a traditional rice and meat dish. Mandi is made by cooking rice slowly with tender juicy meat, flavoured spices, in underground pits that offers you true arabian taste.

The Orangery

  • Location: Fujairah Tower, Ground Floor, Fujairah 
  • Timing: Everyday- 10 AM to 12 AM
  • Price: 220 AED

The orangery is a must try, famous for its British flavors. The restaurant holds a nostalgic charm with its antique settings. The Orangery serves a great European as well as Arabic cuisine with an extensive vegetarian menu.

Gonu Bar and Grill

  • Location: Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach, Fujairah
  • Timing: Everyday- 10 AM to 12 AM
  • Price For Two: 410 AED

Gonu Bar and Grill offers a relaxed atmosphere with exquisite grills and light meals, steaks, seafood, cocktails and other refreshing drinks.One can enjoy the beautiful views and fresh sea breeze while enjoying their exquisite menu. Their jumbo grilled prawns are a must try.

  • Location: Umbrella Beach – Al Faseel Rd, Fujairah 
  • Timings : 9am-12am
  • Price For Two: 80 AED

With a view of the clear Indian ocean, Steki focuses on serving a well crafted blend of Green recipes with Fujairah’s influences. Their wonderful cuisine and interior celebrate the local marine life of Fujairah.

  • Timing: Everyday, 10 AM to 12 AM

Their cocktail club event on Tuesday is obviously popular but so is their exceptionally, juicy, mouth-watering Tomahawk steak.
