August 12, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: By joining this year’s UAE Accident Free Day, drivers all over the Emirates can take off four black points from their license. This big road safety plan will happen on Monday, August 25 – the same day when the school year starts and lots of kids go back to school.

The Federal Traffic Council wants every driver to be safe and drive right as more than one million students head back to class. If drivers stay out of accidents and follow road rules on the UAE Accident Free Day, they will lose four black points from their record by September 15.

Brigadier Engineer Hussein Al Harthi, who leads the Federal Traffic Council, said this drive is key to make roads safer as more cars fill them. “We really want to push for better habits among drivers,” Al Harthi said. “It takes everyone working together, drivers and people walking. The first day of school is very important – we need to keep the kids safe.”

Pushing for Safer Roads with Good Offers in UAE Accident Free Day

The UAE Accident Free Day campaign asks drivers to wear seat belts, keep to speed limits, stay far enough apart from other cars, and not use phones while driving. Authorities think this good offer will cut down on crashes, injuries, and deaths on a day that normally has a lot of cars on the road.

Last year, over 300,000 drivers said they would join UAE Accident Free Day, and many got the benefit of losing black points. Road safety pros say this drive reminds people how dangerous it can be to drive carelessly, mostly near schools.

Dr. Mustafa Al Dah, a road safety expert from the Emirates, pointed out that the start of school always needs more care. “We often have to tell parents, teachers, bus drivers, and all road users to think of safety,” Al Dah said. “Sadly, accidents can happen near schools. This campaign helps stop bad things from happening.”

Getting Black Points and Traffic Fines

In the UAE, black points are given for bad driving acts. How many points depend on how bad the act was, with 24 points in one year leading to losing your license. Fines and other punishments like having your car taken can also happen. If your car is taken, you pay Dh100 every day to get it back.

By offering to cut four points for doing right on UAE Accident Free Day, leaders hope to keep good driving going even after the campaign. The Ministry of Interior wants this effort to make drivers keep safety first all school year.

The campaign also looks out for people at risk on the road. Parents taking kids to school, bus drivers, and drivers in places where people live are asked to be very careful. Going too fast or wrong passing near schools can lead to quick fines – dangers one can avoid by just following the day’s rules.

Cops say that UAE Accident Free Day is a big deal, but it’s not just about one day. It’s meant to make drivers act safer all the time. They note that the plan does more than offer points for good driving – it shows everyone that being safe on the road is most important.

Experts on road safety say efforts like this push people to care more. When drivers see they are being watched and that acting right helps, they tend to go slower, let others go first, and stay sharp when driving. It’s key for parents to act right too, since kids pick up what they see.

The Ministry of Interior reports that past runs of UAE Accident Free Day have cut down crashes and got more people to buckle up and use their phones less while driving.

Road bosses are asking folks to sign up for the program on the Ministry of Interior’s site or app by August 25. By promising to drive well, people help make the start of school safer and aim for a year with no crashes.
