UAE–India Flights: Air India Express Freedom Sale Draws Early Rush

August 11, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: At 7 a.m. this morning, the check-in hall at Dubai International was bustling for a Monday. But these passengers weren’t catching a flight; many had come straight from nearby coffee shops, phones in hand, furiously refreshing browsers. The prize? Air India Express Freedom Sale tickets starting at just Dh53.

The budget carrier’s annual Independence Day promotion kicked off yesterday online, and by late afternoon, some of the cheapest seats on popular UAE–India flights were already gone. The limited-period offer, which runs until August 15, covers travel through March 31 of the following year.

What the Air India Express Freedom Sale Covers?

The Air India Express Freedom Sale opened exclusively on the airline’s website and app From August 10, before expanding to all major booking platforms from today. The travel window begins on August 19 and spans India’s busiest travel months, including Onam, Durga Puja, Diwali, and Christmas.

From its UAE bases in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah, Air India Express serves 38 cities across India. The airline runs more than 500 flights every day, with popular routes including Dubai to Kochi and Abu Dhabi to Chennai seeing several UAE-India flights daily.

For the UAE’s 3.5 million Indian expatriates, many of whom travel home multiple times a year, such deals are a lifeline. Holiday fares between the two countries can easily climb to Dh500–Dh800 one-way during peak weeks, so entry prices in the Dh179 range represent savings of 60% or more.

Booking Tips from Those in the Know

From conversations with passengers and agents, a few patterns emerged for snagging the best UAE-India flight deals:

  • Be online early on Day 1, as the first release often has the broadest choice of seats.
  • Check multiple UAE departure points; a fare from Sharjah may be far cheaper than from Dubai on the same day.
  • Look for mid-week flights; Fridays and Sundays see a surge in prices.
  • If possible, travel light — Lite fares without check-in baggage are usually the deepest discounts.

The airline confirmed the Air Indian Express Freedom Sale will run until the stroke of midnight on August 15. “We’re delighted to bring back the Freedom Sale, making it easier than ever for passengers to reconnect with loved ones during the festive season,” an Air India Express spokesperson told reporters. “For many of our customers, booking a ticket home is a celebration in itself by Air Indian Express Freedom Sale .”

By mid-morning today, searches for UAE–India flights on popular travel portals had spiked by more than 40%, suggesting the rush is far from over. For now, the advice from seasoned sale hunters is simple: if you see a fare you like, take it because it won’t be there tomorrow.
