Dubai, October 22, 2025- According to the reports, the United Arab Emirates will put an end to awarding new tourist and work visas to the nationals of nine countries at the beginning of 2026. This measure has been dubbed the UAE Visa Ban 2025 and it has raised a lot of queries and uncertainties among the tourists and workers affected by it.

This reported ban is mainly a matter of media coverage, but the UAE government has not made any official statement. The embassy of Bangladesh, among others, has claimed that they did not receive any notification of the visa restrictions at all. Besides, there are recruitment agencies and travelers who are waiting for the situation to be clarified.

Countries Affected by UAE Visa Ban 2025

The reported ban impacts new visa applications from citizens of these nine countries:

  • Somalia

  • Sudan
  • Uganda

This suspension applies only to new visa requests. Those already holding valid UAE visas can continue to live and work in the country without interruption.

What the UAE Visa Ban 2025 Means for Travelers and Workers?

The announced UAE Visa Ban 2025 has only limited the scope of new visa applications for the nine countries. What travelers and workers from these nations need to know is as follows:

  • Current Visa Holders: The holders of valid tourist or work visas will be unaffected. They will be allowed to continue their stay and employment without any restrictions.
  • New Applicants: Those intending to apply for UAE tourist or work visas might experience hardships or their applications might be put on hold until the prohibition is lifted.
  • Economic Impact: The ban could temporarily cut off the major source of income for families through remittances as thousands of laborers send money home.
  • Security and Immigration Control: It is the speculation of the analysts that the ban may be connected to the UAE’s overall policy relating to security, illegal immigration, and labor regulations. However, no official statements regarding reasons for the ban have been made.
  • Confusion and Clarifications: Reports of the ban has been termed as false or unverified by several embassies including those of Bangladesh and Uganda. No statement from official UAE sources has been provided. Travelers are advised to get their visa information from the official channels only.

Background and Current Status of the UAE Visa Ban 2025

Since the first reports back in October 2025, the issue of UAE Visa Ban 2025 has generated a lot of debate on both media and social networks. In contrast, the UAE government has not publicly indicated such a visa halt. False tales about the embassies and their respective countries have spread all around the globe.

The Bangladesh Embassy located in Abu Dhabi cleared up the matter by calling it a lie and pointed out that the whole story based on the visa processing origin. The same thing happened with the UAE Ambassador in Uganda who said that the no official instructions on visa suspensions were made.

Inquiries from the citizens of the affected countries who need to know the visa situation are already being referred to by travel and recruitment agencies as a sign of the problem getting bigger. The ongoing uncertainty reveals the necessity for a prompt official confirmation.

Advice for Affected Nationals and Travelers

The never-ending rumors about the UAE Visa Ban 2025 are going to be a nightmare for the tourists coming from the nine nations who will have to be careful and still updated about:

  • Validate the Information: The best practice to check the visa requirements is through the official UAE government websites or by going to the embassies in person. Never put your trust in non-credible sources or agents, who might be disseminating fake information or tricks.
  • Watch for Updates: The announcements made by UAE immigration and the relevant embassies should be of your concern as they might be the official changes or clarifications.
  • Prepare Alternatives: In the scenario of visa suspension delays, certain travelers consider locating places that do not require a visa or are simpler to pass through other nations as their alternative destinations.
  • Keep Yourself Updated: For reliable and prompt information, use reliable news sources and the official announcements from the UAE ministry as your source.

UAE Visa Ban 2025 is referred to as the rumors according to which the issuing of both tourist and work visas to nine countries will be totally stopped from January 2026. The nine countries are Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Lebanon, Cameroon, Sudan, and Uganda.

On the other hand, as no official announcement from the UAE has been made yet, some embassies even reject the existence of the UAE Visa Ban 2025. Current visa holders from the UAE of these countries are said to be unaffected. The ban might be a result of security and immigration policy reviews but this is just a guess.
