Tap Tap Send UAE, a remittance app that is frequently used by expatriates, has announced a temporary halt of its money transfer services. This pause is a result of system enhancements that are meant to support the app’s speed and reliability. The company, in its notice to users, emphasizes the interruption is only for a short period and the money of the users will be safe.

System Upgrade and Service Pause

Tap Tap Send UAE announced the temporary pause in money transfers starting from October 17, 2025. This timing comes as many expats prepare to send money home near payday. At the moment when a user logs into the app, there is an alert stating the transfer is temporarily halted on account of the service upgrade. The upgrade is meant to enhance the overall transfers quality and reliability, thereby making the app faster and more effective once it resumes operations.

Notification to users regarding the restart of the services has also been promised by the company. Until then, accounts remain accessible, and previously sent money is safe. Since its UAE launch in June 2023, Tap Tap Send UAE has grown quickly as a preferred, low-cost option for sending money abroad, especially to developing countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Impact on Users and Alternatives

Some expatriates have expressed their concerns regarding the suspension as Tap Tap Send UAE was their choice for fast, no-fee remittances. Money transfer to their homelands is essential for these people as they have to support their families back home. The app, by providing quick transfers and no charges, has attracted a large user base which prefers it over traditional money transfer centers that impose hefty fees.

During the downtime, expats are seeking other remittance services that are available in the UAE. These include Wise, Remitly, Al Ansari Exchange, LuLu Money, and WorldRemit, which are all viable alternatives. These platforms have competitive rates and provide reliable services, therefore users can continue sending money without experiencing long delays

Tap Tap Send UAE’s temporary service pause comes at a crucial time, but the company emphasizes that this is to improve user experience. Expats using the service are encouraged to explore other transfer options during the upgrade period. The app’s return will aim to offer even better, quicker sending capabilities and maintain its position as a trusted remittance provider in the UAE market.
