December 01, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: The citizens and tourists in the city will enjoy over 54 years of national day in the country in the year 2014, because the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that it has been able to offer Free Public Parking in Dubai to the masses during the UAE national day holiday. The long weekend is now more convenient and affordable to all those intending to attend the event in all the emirates.

Indeed, according to the RTA, free on-road parking will be provided in Dubai on Monday, December 1, and Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The free parking is in line with the official Eid al Etihad holidays. The waiver will cover all normal areas of the public parking, enabling motorists to have tremendous savings during the long weekend.

The project will help improve access to shopping areas, entertainment centres, celebration areas, and open spaces where the National Day and fireworks will be held. The Free Public Parking in Dubai waiver will eliminate any impediment to attendance, since thousands of people are expected to attend.

Key Exception to Free Public Parking in Dubai

The majority of the areas are covered, though exceptions exist. Dubai car parks with several storeys will continue to pay normal fees since they are independent of the RTA zones. Al Khail Gate N-365 parking area will not be involved either, so it will continue with its usual paid rates on December 1 and 2. Drivers accessing these facilities must verify rates and requirements to pay in order not to get fines.

The waiver is only applicable to the RTA-controlled street parking and specific areas that are public. Parking, mall, and hotel parking lots might have their own regulations; therefore, the visitor must confirm their reservations in their targeted areas to ensure they benefit from Free Public Parking in Dubai.

Other Cities Picking up on a Similar Trend

Dubai isn’t alone. Similar free parking was declared by Abu Dhabi in the form of the Mawaqif program run by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) from Sunday, November 30, to Tuesday, December 2. This three-day period will provide an additional benefit day to the residents as compared to Dubai, though Dubai’s highlight remains its extensive Free Public Parking in Dubai initiative.

The organisation of the Emirates exhibits a cohesive attitude to the National Day events, being more open. The parking relief helps in saving a lot of money for families intending to go out on numerous occasions during the long weekend, regardless of which city you are in: Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Prolonged Public transport Services supplement Complimentary Public Parking

In this regard, the RTA increased the Dubai Metro and Tram working hours. On the 1st and 2nd of December, the Red and Green Metro lines operate between 5 am and 1 am. During the two holidays, the Tram will run between 6:00 am and 1:00 am. During the two holidays, the Tram runs between 6:00 AM and 1:00 AM. These long hours enable the non-drivers to visit the venues conveniently. To car lovers, Free Public Parking in Dubai will make driving appealing.

Bus schedules also changed. To facilitate a hassle-free travel, commuters ought to update the S’hail app on route and timing during the holiday weekend.

On Monday and Tuesday, the RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed due to the holiday of the National Day. Nevertheless, digital services are available 24/7 in Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Twar and RTA Head Office. There will also be vehicle inspection centres, which will close and again resume their normal operation on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Taking Advantage of Free Parking Areas

The waiver allows residents and tourists to enjoy the emirate at the time of the National Day. Tourist attraction sites such as the Dubai Mall, Global Village, beach parks and celebration areas will be more accessible since the parking fees will be done away with due to Free Public Parking in Dubai.

The families will be able to make numerous stops and be unconcerned about charges. The project is of great advantage to the people who visit the official events, fireworks, and cultural celebrations in the city, especially with Free Public Parking in Dubai available across RTA-controlled areas.

One should be at the venue early enough since there might be a high demand for parking spaces. Developing the route plans and spare parking spaces will ensure that the experience is smooth.
