Schools reopen in Dubai, 23rd April 2026: Students across the United Arab Emirates returned to classrooms on Monday following the break, with campuses witnessing a busy start to the day. Many were eager and enthusiastic as they resumed their academic routines.

The concurrent restart of educational operations and continuous shipping flows emphasize a larger restoration of regular operations in major areas, such as education, transport and exchange at the beginning of the week.

Back-to-school frenzy across the UAE

The first day to resume education was reported to be busy in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the early morning as parents dropped off children. Traffic that had accumulated around school zones, particularly during rush times, was brought under control by the introduction of police officers to direct the traffic.

It also resulted in the traffic congestion of the transport networks. In Dubai, RTA added buses on some of the routes in the school district, and the metro was running at full capacity in the mornings.

School officials also said that they were preparing classrooms, staff briefing, and safety inspections in the run up to the reopening. A high school official claimed they are more than willing to take students back and smoothly transition into the new term.

The parents have been advised to allow themselves more time to travel during the first week, as the traffic patterns tend to stabilize after school reopenings.

Academic schedules in school resume

Schools in the country went back to regular scheduled classes, extracurricular activities, and examinations will be held in due course. Law enforcement agencies also reiterated the importance of being on time and adhering to the school transportation rules, especially among the youth. Parents were also encouraged by schools to keep in touch with them using official communication channels in case of scheduling changes within the first few days.

The education authorities stressed that attendance and early participation in the term are major factors in academic performance, and that students need to get into their routine early in the term.

Sea traffic still on at major world routes

Meanwhile, shipping continued at its usual level in the waters of the region, with ships still passing through the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend. One of the most important waterways in the world is the strategic waterway linking the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

Much of the oil exports in the world are carried through the strait every day, and its uninterrupted functioning is essential to the international energy markets, and the world trade flows as well.

According to maritime tracking information, several commercial tankers and cargo vessels have managed to sail the route in recent days, with a consistent pattern of movement.

No interruptions in spite of local sensitivities

Shipping sources reported that there were no major disruptions, delays, or security issues reported during the weekend. The movement of ships did not vary greatly and indicated that the safe and secure navigation in the area was being preserved.

Analysts observed that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to sea traffic as an encouraging indicator of the global markets since any form of interference in the Strait of Hormuz can have instant effects on the oil prices and supply chains.

A local maritime expert said that shipping activity has not changed much, and operations are proceeding as usual, with monitoring systems active to guarantee the safety of vessels.

Schools reopen: Normalcy resumes in several sectors

The opening of schools and the gradual maritime activities serve as a reminder of a greater feeling of stability and normality within the UAE and the region, in general.

As students resume classes and transport systems run at full capacity, everyday life has gone back to normal after the break. The government and various industries keep a close eye on the progress, even as services are going on well.

With the week going on, the traffic situation is likely to ease, and the turnout in schools will also be stabilized, which will mean a complete turnaround for the families throughout the country.
