Emirates SkyCargo has launched a weekly freighter service to Toronto Pearson International Airport opening a direct cargo corridor between Canada and the UAE. It adds a new link to expand the global network for cargo carriers and positions Dubai as the most accessible transit hub for Canadian exports heading to markets around the world. The service is being operated by Boeing 777 freighters.

What The Toronto Route Covers

The new EK9944 departs Toronto Pearson every Friday at 19:15 local time and arrives at Dubai World Centre on Saturday 16:15 local time. This route is not exclusively a direct link between UAE and Canada but also serves as a bridge between Europe and Canada. Between Amsterdam and Toronto, the freighter carries pharmaceuticals, perishables, and EU manufactured goods on its main deck. This gives the service a triangulated value across three key trade zones.

Emirates SkyCargo’s Divisional Senior Vice President, Badr Abbas said that the Toronto service provides Canadian business with an additional 100 tonnes of export capacity every week. This is over and above the already available capacity on Emirates passenger flights. He added that the exports from Canada to the UAE have drawn 24 percent increase between 2023 and 2024. all the categories like pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, electronics, and general cargo will move around the route. This freighter service provides the speed and reliability required for these key commodities.

Emirates SkyCargo: Beyond The Route

Emirates SkyCargo has taken the delivery of four new Boeing777 freighters since March 2026. It will continue to expand its fleet with further six Boeing777 freighters before the year end. The target is at least 21 dedicated freighters by December. The airline’s 2026 road map involves doubling the current capacity by adding 20 new freighter destinations to its network.

Toronto is just one block of the larger expansion in the carrier’s history. For the United Arab Emirates, each new route reinforces Dubai’s role as a Central Global Logistic Hub. It is paving the road for Dubai to become the point which converges goods from Canada, Europe, South Asia, and Africa before redistributing. This weekly Toronto service does not only serve Canadian exporters, but strengthens the infrastructure to make Dubai indispensable to global trade.
