Why the Capital Gets It Again
It comes down to a partnership. IIFA has extended its tie-up with Abu Dhabi’s tourism department and with Miral, which runs Yas Island’s major attractions.
The papers were signed at Arabian Travel Market 2026. Officials see the IIFA Awards 2027 as a way to strengthen the emirate’s links with India.
Who Will Be There
Salman Khan leads the guest list, and he has said that stepping on stage in Abu Dhabi feels special to him. Joining him at the IIFA Awards 2027 are Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor. Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan will host the main night. Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal will run the digital show.
Two Days, Two Shows
Day 1, January 22, belongs to the IIFA Digital Awards. Tripathi and Fazal will host it, and for Tripathi it is a first. The main IIFA Awards 2027 ceremony follows on January 23. Johar and Dhawan will front that one.

How to Watch from Home
Can’t get to Yas Island? You can still watch. The IIFA Awards 2027 will go out live on YouTube worldwide, which has never happened before. It won’t be only the trophy moments either. IIFA plans celebrity chats and backstage footage too.
What Officials Have Said
IIFA co-founder Andre Timmins said coming back to Abu Dhabi feels “incredibly special.” He sees the IIFA Awards 2027 as the brand’s biggest chapter so far. Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, from Abu Dhabi’s tourism department, pointed to the emirate’s close ties with India as part of the reason for the partnership.
A Familiar Stage for IIFA
The city is no stranger to this event. The IIFA Awards 2027 follow a Jaipur edition in 2025, and before that Abu Dhabi had the show for three years in a row, from 2022 to 2024. Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, and Vicky Kaushal hosted the final Abu Dhabi night of that run, with Ananya Panday among the performers. The arena is ready for round four.
Side Events and What Is Still Unknown
Past UAE editions had extras. IIFA Rocks was built around live music, and IIFA Utsavam celebrated South Indian films. Whether the IIFA Awards 2027 will keep them as unclear, because the organizers haven’t said. Watch the IIFA and Etihad Arena pages, as more names and schedule details may follow before January.
